I think tearing is massively mitigated by high hz monitors as the tear is on screen for far less time.

So ideally you want GSYNC and VSYNC ON and set in game frame limiter a few frames below the maximum refresh rate of the monitor. Going to have a play with this tonight.

Tested on Rainbow Six Seige and it's a stuttery mess, think gsync and the in game vsync don't like each other.

However on COD Cold War it's amazing. Really buttery smooth

I've tried the whole setting FPS cap a few frames below refresh rate and it always stutters like mad so I generally just have G-Sync on and that's it, nothing else, no V-SYNC, no FPS caps or anything else and for the most part everything is super smooth. The one good thing about having and FPS cap though as that my GPU usage went right down and so it ran quieter and cooler but the stutter and input lag just isn't worth it for me.

Had a look at some benchmarks for the 3070 Ti and its around 30% faster than the 1080Ti. I could sell my 1080 Ti and recoup some of the inflated cost of that 3070 Ti

It's closer to 50%
