Resorts in Cancun

We booked ours like before Christmas. It hadnt even been finished being built then, so we just had digital images to go by. I guess now its opened and they can show it in all its glory things have gotten pretty booked up. Its worth a trip there if you can get in. Sounds pretty similar to the one you stayed at. :)

Yeah it's probably that, had a look at the Azul Beach Resort too, came out at £6.5k for three of us.

We were only able to go because my Grandad when he died left us some money and told us to go on the holiday of a lifetime. The prices must have gone up though because my parents paid for all of us (5 people) plus a guest for each of us 3 kids (so there were 8 people in total) and it cost a few quid over £11k. We would never have been able to afford it otherwise. It was a once in a lifetime thing. :)

Just asked at the travel agents about Cancun and they said that the hurricane season is June - October :/ ><

Which isn't necessarily a reason not to go, I've been to cuba and Hawaii in Hurricane season without any problems as have millions of others. Your chances of getting caught in a huricane are pretty slim and modern hotels are very safe.

It's not so much when we're there (although that's a part of it) but if it affects our travel back to the UK which is on my mind a bit more.

dont worry about hurricane season. I am just back from 2 weeks in Playa del carmen, (about an hour from cancun). got back last week and the weather was fine, sunny for almost the whole time. got one tropical storm but that was it. Stayed in the Royal Playa del Carmen run by Real resorts. Was the most amazing holliday i have ever been on. did a 4 day trip round some Mayan ruins and went swimming with whale sharks. would go back any time, loved it. Personally I would recommend somewhere like Playa del carmen over Cancun but thats just my choice, we went into Cancun a few times but dont think i would have liked to stay there..too many people and the beach has been destroyed by a hurricane so there is no sand. Basically the further away down the coast you get from Cancun the better the beaches are.

Whats the problem? If you get delayed for a day or so then you get delayed it's not the end of the world and totally out of your control.
