Retro console and games thread

Can Anyone spec me a good standard defintion 4:3 ratio CRT TV which I can go on the hunt for on Ebay and other places? I think classic arcades will look so much better on a good CRT instead of my HDTV.

The Sony Trinitrons seem to get mention a lot on retro forums.

Well that was easier than expected Neo Geo finally up and running a game. I'm going have to pop up Maplins sometime to get a Micro switch that should allow me go into service mode and change difficulty or add or take away lives etc.

It's been awhile since I had to blow into a game cart to grt it working. :D

I was able mess around with a faulty controller but I have an AES arcade stick on it's way from Japan that I won off Ebay. Knowing them Japanese I'll be waiting weeks. :(

So I went in The British Heart Fondation charity shop in Stoke this morning and you wouldn't believe what they had. A 21" Sony Triniton 4:3 CRT TV. What were the odds of that? Yes I snapped it up. Metal Slug looks great on it.

They normally charge loads for stuff in there! That old wicker furniture outside hundreds of £££ don't know how well they do!

i have had most of my best finds in the bernados charity shop, they seem to price games really cheap when they get them in.The heart foundation shops price their stuff up from ebay

Cash Convertors and Cash Generator are also good. Picked up a PSone for £5 a few months back and a few Megadrive games for 99p. Way cheaper than what I found on ebay.

I never even knew that 'Track and Field' was released on the Dreamcast  How does it compare to the PSone version?

If only I knew about this back then, I had 'Virtua Athlete' and thought it was very poor compared to 'Track and Field' on the PSone :(
