Nice finds! Especially the Namco Museum titles, that is how games companies should package retro titles, the 3d museum mode is a fantastic touch.
That said, I do like how Sega packaged up the "Vintage Collection" titles on the xbla, the menu's are simple but have a very nice nostalgic charm to them.

Although quite a few people consider the fourth title to be one of the weaker releases, it is my personal favourite as I have a lot of good memories playing a few of those titles on family holidays as a kid :)

Help needed please

I have bought a mega drive console for a quid from a carboot.

It came with no leads, so i need to get some. I have a 40" sony lcd tv, which it the best video lead to get to work with tv??

thanks

Do they make any third party consoles that take mega drive master system. snes and nes carts ?

There are a couple that play Snes, Megadrive and Nes. Master system, I think will play on them using the Master system to Megadrive adapter.

How ever, the systems are all based on playing NTSC games. So they are 60Hz, which may cause problems with certain pal games (some pal snes game have glitches in 60hz). They have no lockout chip, so advanced lockout protected Snes games won't play. They all seem to have some Audio problems on certain games. Also they only output s-video at best, when the original systems (except Nes), do RGB.

I'll stick my head in here because someone at work has just given me a PS2 with 1 controller, a Logitech wheel/pedals, a couple of memory cards and 5 games, mostly racing (Colin Mccrae 4, GT3 a-spec, Lotus Challenge, Racing Simulator 3, and International Cue Club!).

Are any of these not worth bothering with? I'm going to have a rummage through the local charity shops over the weekend to see if I can get some of the games i'm more interested in (MSG, GOW, FF that sort of thing).

Grabbed me an NTSC N64 console. Judging by the serial, it should have the VDC-NUS dac in it, so easy RGB mod, but will need to open to make sure, if not, can do the other mod to it and at least it will be 60Hz.

Going to have to replace my games, but most cartridge only games seem to be £5-10 :). Only a few seem to hold value and even then, not too bad (£20-25).

Will have to climb in the loft later and see exactly what I need, as I want to replace all the games I have, as apart from RARE games, they are all awful conversions.

Went into the loft & found my box of n64 stuff

Nothing there really seems to hold it's value, so shouldn't cost much to switch to ntsc. Most stuff is £5 or so for cartridge only.

Going to get some that I missed as well, I don't have Majora's mask :(, never got it when it came out, shocking fail from me :(.

While on that, is that a limited run or something? Ocarina of time, catridge only ntsc seems to be £5-10, Majora's mask is £20-25.

Think my subconscious is trying to tell me something.

I keep having this recurring dream, had it last night, where I walk into a game shop and instead of checking out the new games, I go to the 2nd hand section and look for the Desert Strike series on the Mega Drive and The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past on the Snes.
They never have it in stock :( .

Yay my NTSC 64 arrived :).

NTSC 64, UK supply, two controllers, 1mb card and 4mb expansion pack. Expansion pack is third party, but seems to work fine. Switched it with a Nintendo one though and stuck the 3rd party in my other 64 that is a bit rough.

As suspected from the serial

NUS-CPU-03 :).

Now off to ebay to hunt down ntsc games.

I've got this far with my snes.. Satin black somewhere between matt and gloss

And I need some ideas for the buttons. Some sort of white/silver/grey mix or something.
Also led.. Blue or white?
Maybe a silver eject with white power and reset?

Want it to match my other kit

I have a Dreamcast that's gone slightly yellow as they do. I'm thinking about plasti dip'ing it in white or black. Has anyone done anything similar?

Does anyone here want to swap an N64 for a Sega Mega CD? Had my MegaDrive a little while now and I'm absolutely loving it, but the N64 is gathering dust! Have 2 controllers and a boatload of games too. Anyway thought I'd let you guys have first dibs. If anyone is interested I'll set up a page on the MM and get it done properly :)

EDIT: I'll even throw in an S-video cable :p

Oh and here's a picture of my latest buy

Get an RGB Scart cable for it. The US console supports full RGB where as the PAL doesn't

Had a few old consoles sat in boxes for years as I had no where for them to go. But finally clearing some room and will build a cabinet and have a multi console setup. Was thinking about going down the route of a line doubler and scale line generator with a HDTV but saw this for sale for £35;

A Bang Olufsen MX4000. Picture doesn't do it justice, really nice SD picture and hoping it will be perfect for retro gaming.

WTF... I just seen how much megaman x4 goes for on a famous book store site and on flebay...

I'm tempted to sell it, but its the only game I have of the blue bomber and I <3 the little dude and I was actually looking to add to my collection.

White buttons. White and black snes would look nice.

Is kind of what I was thinking, just trying to picture if it will work.

Here it is sort of constructed (didn't want to clip it together as need to change led)
Don't know whether to change the buttons at all
