Retro console and games thread

Try putting in a cartridge but instead of putting it all the way put it in so it just fits. This is how I get mine to work. :D

Agreed as it probably works fine, you can strip it and bend the pins slightly to improve it but for the most part mine works better if the cart is up not pushed down. Its just fussy :)

Whoop

It's not going to happen the only reason neo geo stuff held value was because
it wasn't mainstream thereby hard to come by the snes dreamcast etc will never be big money i can walk into a second hand cpu shop tomorrow and buy a dc for £30 + no games worth buying seeing as the console didnt need a chip to run pirates.

The Sam Coupé! I still develop for it, hardware, software, magazines, you name it I do it! Plugged in the back is my prototype 20MHz Accelerator to boost it from 6 to 20MHz - very nice! :D

333% overclock! :o

Very nifty mate :)

Been moving some stuff around the home so thought I'd seize the opportunity to take a picture while most of the stuff was out..

when did you buy this and how much did it cost. iirc my mate had one and it cost him about £300 in the early 90's

I bought the console with 12 games off the bay for around £200 2 or 3 years ago.

The games that I've puchased since have ranged in price from £10 through to over £100.

Quite expensive for a retro console, I suppose, but well worth it imo.

All this is making me want to do is go up the loft and find my old atari 2600.(6 button version with the wood front). Games still cost £50 in 1977???? So that makes a £40 360 game very cheap 30 years later?

Not exactly the most retro console but the PS1 is my all time favourite console, I loved the Spyro games on it. I recently bought a brand new fully sealed copy of Spyro 2: Gateway to Glimmer, going to keep it sealed and treasure it :p .

Time to kick this thread back into action.

When is retro not so retro?...................I shall tell you, it's when you buy a never been used mint condition N64 from a popular auction site. :D and all at a good price.

She's a real looker.

I bought a Mega 32X a couple of weeks ago. It all seems to work fine but it appears there use to be a cable that went from the Megadrive to the 32X and I'm missing this cable.

Trying to get my hands on this cable has been a nightmare I tell you. :( It looks like I'll be better off trying to buy a broken 32X that still has it's cables.

this thread is not good for my wallet, will post pics of my Atari ST & buckets of games when i get a chance, i so wanna buy a snes now though after reading through this thread, TO THE BAY!

I prefer the look of version 1 of the Mega CD but the Megadrive 2 looks stupid with it. If anyone has a MegaCD 2 but has a Megadrive 1 and would like to trade Megadrives let me know. :)

I thought i would post a pic of the Master sytem and megadrive games i have collected since started posting on this thread.I got a megadrive a couple of days ago with 2 pads and 12 games but i got 3 sonic 1's and 2 earth worm jims, was ok for £5 tho. Also a pic of the megadrive's i basicly only buy them for the games .

Wish I never gave my little brother my N64 now. The little rascal only went and gave it away when I bought him a Dreamcast. He didn't even offer me it back. Although when he gave me a 360 it was all forgotten about. :D

Still miss not having a N64 though.
