The Dreamcast has to be my number one all time fave. I remember getting my first one for xmas 2000 with Soul Calibur and Shenmue. AWESOME!!!!
In 2003 I got another console free with a mobile phone deal which I kept unopened until 2 years ago when I started to get back into retro as my original one stopped working properly. Its so nice to have a mint condition dreamcast in 2014. I'm started to build up a nice little collection but only really buy the games I want to play, problem with the DC is that there are so many ha ha ha. The independent scene is awesome with new Dreamcast games still coming out even his year. I need to get a copy of Sturmwind (2013) from Redspot games in the near future me thinks.
Probably doesn't count, but I was walking through Tesco's, saw this and had to have it!

Waynelle whereon earth you find a copy of rapid reload.....envious
Lars888, i'm going to be purchasing a SNES Mini in the very near future! That 1CHIP RGB quality
Talking of SNES, i just performed my First SUPERCIC mod. Those of you not aware of what the SUPERCIC does, it basically fools the lockout chip inside the SNES. It is switchless, and the modes are activated using the Reset button. This allows games which are MOD aware to play as it fools them into thinking its the genuine lockout.
It also allows you to play your pal games in 60HZ yay! It's not the easiest of mods but the next one i do will be a lot easier now i know where alternative points to solder to are.
Here it is being tested with a Japanese copy of Dead Dance... excuse the mess

How difficult did you find it? I once looked into doing a supercic on my own pal snes but got a bit put off after reading some guides on the net. Haven't soldered anything since i was about 13 or so and wouldn't want to ruin my only snes. Thinking about doing a language and 50/60 hz mod on my megadrive though as it looks somewhat easier, just need to refresh my soldering skills a bit first (my old man works for a small electronics firm so may be able to get some old circuit boards to practice on).
Well my SNES Mini arrived today. Seller had packaged it real well and was excited to get it open
Opened it to find she was in really good condition. A small scuff just left of the cart slot, but was nice and white and had no marks on it. Will dismantle is later and clean in between the logos and cart slot where dust and dirt collects.
So with anticipation of the unit arriving i needed to sort a short term solution for the PSU as it came with the US PSU, so a trip to a high street electronics retailer and 3 parts purchased i assembled this adapter.
This adapter allows me to use my UK Mega Drive Adapter as it supply's DC 10V 1.2A which is plenty enough.
Next dilemma was how was i going to test the unit without a US cart as one i ordered from ebay had not showed up yet. US units will also play NTSC/J games so i dismantled my Japanese Cart and just used the bare board to test. Connected everything up and .... Tada
SUCCESS!!
I'm going to see about getting a new PSU for it when i can find one and get a quality RGB Lead. I will do the RGB and Power LED mod when i get the parts.
Overall i'm well chuffed. Always wanted a Snes mini and now i have one![]()
Wow that was fast, welcome to the SNES MINI club. Remember to get those nasty tabs cut so you can insert your Super Famicom carts with the shells on them![]()
Yeah, seller was in the UK so i din't have to deal with any international shipping
I dismantled it earlier and you are able to unscrew the cart slot assy from the case which i didn't realise! Is it just the two tabs at the back to cut? I will use my dremel as i want it to be as neat as possible![]()
