Retro console and games thread

Got these today.

Mario 64, Mario Kart and Star Wars are in amazing condition. Conkers is too apart from slight water damage over the Nintendo logo. Pretty pleased.

My SNES collection so far.

Not as good as some of the finds on here but I picked up a spares/repair Gamecube today. The fault was stuck down reset and eject buttons. A quick youtube and 5 mins later both buttons are back to normal. Not bad for £10. Just need to get some games to test it now.

Nice work !

dont overlook charity shops had no end of decent games and systems from them for next to nothing.

just remember the main consoles like master systems, mega drives, snes and like sold in multi millions. almost every house hold had one in the attic or about.

the one bad thing about retro gaming is when you want a game or item and i know i done it myself :p the rose tinted blinkers go on and you often pay too much.

best thing to do is stick to a price and wait. often it will come up and the games go up and down.

Found this website http://www.oldgamemags.com/, which I assume will be of interest to some of you.

They're NZ based and need some UK scanners. Maybe there's a few reading this thread can help out :)

Shame I've got loads (as in 100's) of old mags from 1989-mid 90's, but definitely not got the energy to scan them all. ^^

I did actually appear in one of them winning a small gaming competition. :D

This thread has reminding me I must get a copy of super aleste/space megaforce, I do regret selling my copy. :/

Carrying on from my own post, what retro games you had when they were current, but later sold do you wish you never sold?

My are as follows: (All were new and mint when purchased)

SNES
Super Aleste (already mentioned) (Swaped it for Rival Turf, yes I know ;_; )
Act Raiser (Have got a loose copy now)
Turtles IV, in time
Axelay (Have got a loose copy now)
Parodius
Super Castlevania IV
Super Bommerman
R-Type III (brought and sold twice, on my 3rd copy now which is in average condition)
Illusion of time
Terranigma (was cart only, but I paid £6)

NES:
Zelda II
Bionic Commando

There are certainly more that I have forgotten.

Its not the same as buying and original console but Nintendo are releasing a mini NES with 30 reinstalled games called Nintendo Classic Mini.

It connects to your TV via HDMI and even comes with that classic NES pad, which can also be used with your Wii or Wii U. You can also use a Classic Controller or Classic Controller Pro on the system for two-player action, but the new NES pad will be sold separately as well.

This is sweet!! It says no AC adaptor in the UK. So what specifically do we need to buy and WHY!?!

Nintendo had to screw this up somehow. ;)

I think this looks great and being able to use the controller with the Wii is a nice touch too, it can go with my snes controller that I have for the wii :D

Yup. I'm in for one of them. Wonder what hardware it's using? Will be interesting to compare it to a real NES though and a real NES with the Hi-def NES kit installed (once it's here and I've build it up)

I wonder how long it'll be before a SD adaptor becomes available for it? ;)

Found most of my Saturn games :) Have some more somewhere. Just need to work out where I've stashed them...and the console for that matter.
