Retro console and games thread

Hi folks I really need your advice about something.

I won a gamegear + games off ebay that seemed to be in good nick.
However receiving the package today I can see the seller just bundled the gamegear along with the games, all wrapped in brown wrapping. No bubble wrap, no box. Just literally the gamegear box and the boxes for the games all loose.

Some of the wrapping is ripped and you can see inside all the boxes.

Now I have not opened up the package yet as I want to go home and take pictures of it.
From what I can see, I cant see any damage, but I would be very surprised if there wasnt any damage at all.

I would like to ask your opinions about this...

If there is any damage to the box, do you think I should complain or just 'put up and shut up'?

WOW lovin this want one it looks cool never seen one before.

Seems its not such a great idea to keep your old game console's in a decent shed...

NES
SNES
Atari jag+cd
Mega drive+32x

and something else in the bottom of the box that I dont want to find out what it is :(

All 100% perfect with boxes instructions etc.... Seems they have been sweating in the shed and all the carboard has basically composted and everything has rusted :o :( :(

Edit : N64 and gamecube at the bottom :(

 Oh mate you must be gutted. Prehaps you can make a NES PC out of the NES.

Get plenty of photos of the package, was it signed for mate?

A seller cannot send off a game gear like that if it's damaged I'd return it did you pay p&p if so how much?

Dont like the look of this, Please Note These consoles have been stored in my attic for a number of years and are untested. These consoles worked fine when last used. No Returns or Refunds.

Yeah, I'd worry with an auction like that. Someone can't be bothered to plug in a console for 5 minutes to find out if it works or not, and then refuses returns on refunds. :(

I'm sure it could be fine, and I'm sure you'd have no problem getting the money back through paypal if you were fleeced though.

Right this thread has been making me smile for weeks as iv been feeling less weird for having my n64 and dreamcast out under my tv for the last couple of years :) (just finished Zelda OOT for the first time last weekend too which was amazing)

Anyway how much better is the dreamcast vga box?? Im really tempted to get one but need a tiny bit of reassurance that it'll be awesome

Like I posted in reply to other guys comment, I was just looking for the DC VGA and the cheapest one was £26 delivered. So for that and the accessories alone should be worth it. If anything is faulty I'm guessing the consoles (already own one) and well I like repairing things also :)

Well I just opened it up. Its in not too bad a state actually. But the P&P was £12 but the amount of postage on the package was £6.
Is there a way to take up this via ebay? or am i dead in the water?

Im actually quite happy with the whole schindig actually!

just leave it. packaging costs too aswell! and although im sure it wasnt £6. its the swings and roundabouts of ebay.
sometimes you pay over the odds for postage other times you dont, its not as if he was hiding the true cost from you either.

and to be honest if i was selling that item(s) i would have put postage as about £10 aswell.

ebay is not a place to be nitpicking.it is after all an auction site and a rather transparant one aswell.
