Retro console and games thread

Cheers :) this is my mess around Gameboy Pocket. (You know, fancy a quick game, don't want to wait 2 days for a game to update from the net the last time I played it).

I have another boxed GBP but that's in the collection storage box :)
 
I just got rid of my GBC, decided I would never use it and someone swapped me an official Saturn Arcade Stick and Virtua Cop2, Nights and Croc for the saturn for it :D
 
I just found it a bit of a "mehh" between the Gameboy original (which I have and love) and the Advance.

Admittedly they have charm, just not enough for me I guess :)
 
Been watching videos of mega cd games on youtube....
Man i want one of those again!!! Batman Returns and Final Fight were so good
 
Heh, I never had the pleasure to own one, I remember when they first hit the shops (was in Hanley, near Newcastle under lyme. There was a shop that let you have a god on them for a charge of FIVE POUNDS per half hour (back in early/mid 1990s). Crazy.

Will have to make do with my trust MultiMega :)

I remember seeing them for like 40 quid new just as playstation / Saturn were released in local GAME, pondered buying one so many times and now kick myself for not doing so

So my NES collection is starting to grow now. :D



Really enjoying concentrating my efforts into the NES, despite having other systems. Punchout is my favourite game, it really is fun to play. I'm on the hunt now for Megaman 5 PAL A, but I know its going to be a waiting game and its gonna cost me also haha.

Got a few more titles arriving this week also. Have to admit I really think the NES games look great stacked up in a collection.
 
Wow! That's a lot of carts. Proper envious :)

In other good news, borrowed a friends psu for the n64 n it works fine with it.....PHEW!

SO...anyone got a spare n64 power supply lol
 
right, so the gf has an n64 under her tv which she wants to play now and then, she only has the rca cable for it, what cable options can I get her to hook up to her hdtv? Can you get controller extension cables too?
 
I'm using a modified Svideo cable that i got from consolegoods.co.uk

Apparently the n64 doesn't output true RGB quality signal in PAL form (cheers Nintendo)

The cable i have got is fantastic :) and was 9 quid i think

Extension cables are on the bay for a few quid

"Specifically re-wired for use with PAL (UK/Euro/Australia) version N64 consoles. Without this re-wire the picture with a PAL version Nintendo 64 console would be too bright.
For standard charcoal/dark grey PAL N64 consoles. Special edition coloured and Pokemon PAL N64 consoles don't seem to output S-Video"
