Retro console and games thread

Proper tricky one as they are up there in my fave consoles
both have some awesome titles under their belts

I think I would go N64 but only just, if you are lucky there are people selling bundles of both.
 
Haha yea I know giving myself a tough choice!

I had Mario 64 and GoldenEye for the 64 and had loads of fun, had Double Dash, Resident Evils and MGS Twin Snakes for the GC so really I would love both back haha
 
Didn't realise you could do that! So the disks fit the wii then? Pretty sure my bro inclaw has a Wii kicking around he doesn't use :D

Metal Gear and Resident Evil are well expensive for the cube. If you fancy a Gamecube I'd recommend getting a NTSC Wii and NTSC versions of the games. You can play them at 480p using the component cable.

As long as its one of the original style wii's you should be fine runs every game I've tried and you have pad ports and mem cards built in for cube too :) the new style little naff ones with flip lid drives are the cut back function models....avoid!

Wii games are well priced these days and that console has some real gems on it too! Worth having one :)

Forgot how many Wii and cube games I had lol....add a boxed DJ Hero 2 and Donkey Konga set in the loft too

I'm barrowing my nieces' bf wii on long term loan at the moment, I've bomb'd it and managed to pickup two offical controllers for the gcn for a pound each.

It really saves me hooking up the other nintendo consoles when I want a quick bash of an old nintendo game.

What would people say are the quintessential master system games?
I'm really looking for good games that only came out on the master system, the port is considered better than any other home port or the port offers something different that other versions don't offer.

Any suggestions?

ALL OF THEMMMMMM!!!!!!!! Especially the 2 in my sig ;)

Alladin is actually quite fun and totally different from Mega Drive/ SNES versions.

Yeah Master of Darkness like Waynelle said. If you like Castlevania deffo one to pick up.

I have a few games already... its good to see that I'm on the same wavelength as everyone else.

I should be getting Sonic Chaos, Choplifter, Asterix And the Secret Mission and Xenon 2 from ebay in the next few days and have my eye on Penguin land at the moment.

Thanks for the suggestions, I'll keep an eye out for them.. I'm going to play expo this weekend; hopefully I pick up some bargains, ideas and Master System MK1.
