Im amazed this game hasnt been remade. This was the first FPS what i played constantly online and nothing has come close since to it. I cant believe they messed up wolfenstein so bad on the latest one, all it needed was new graphics and a few new levels.
Fast paced FPS seem to be thing of the past and I agree with someone earlier who said they make games for masses now with slower movement, 1-2hits kill so that its so random now that skill doesnt matter half the time.
The levels were perfect with the beach being my fav, they were just so well designed levels and the teamwork needed was immense, but the thing which stood out for me was the movement/skill needed, it wasnt just the "whoever sees the other one 1st wins" you could actually get shot in the back and react.
I swear I read something about a year back just after the mess of wolfenstein that ID were doing a remake inhouse, havent heard anything really since.

I played tram a couple of times but after the first 5-10 minutes i was running around on my own wondering where the hell everyone was.

Did anyone else make use of sprint jumping?
I'm sure virtually everyone did it, got quite silly with everyone launching themselves all over the map.

This game was amazing at the time. Played for hours every day of the week on the Marketgarden only server. That map was brilliant with time limit turned off. Some fights would last for hours before one side blew up the enemy HQ.
Want to dig out my old copy and play again.

Agree with everybody. This game was the dogs, best online FPS i ever played.

Ohhh the Joy of RTCW MP.
Loved the game miss it sorely, but was torn away for the equal delights of BF '42.

RTCW is where PC Multiplayer started for me (and my PC obsession!) - Used to Love the tram map. Never played it single player
Panser was my favourite weapon - Probably the only man that could (as my mates put it) - Bend that sh** round corners
ET was where it got serious for me - Took me a bit to get into it but it soon came a second nature - Loved them rifle nades lol (and teh panser of course)
ETQW was short lived as it changed everything moving to the SCI-FI arena - still enjoyable though if you can find enough players these days
Just goes to show that super duper graphics don't mean nothing compared to simple gameplay - I still don't like playing single player games as opposed to Mutliplayer
awww - the gud ol days. some of them names sound familiar lol. Used to be in =ABS= clan back them (just me and some colleagues from work).
Even after it all died down we used to get together thursday nights for our own private LAN - 20 or so of us - was a right laugh!
