REYLAND Escort - Version 2 Rebuild Pics

don't be so stupid,we both know the Escorts engine won't last more than a few thousand miles.....and that those power claims are "lunatic rantings from a back street tuner that have no basis in reality"
we both know it's IMPOSSIBLE to produce 100BHP/cylinder for any length of time......why??.....err because certain members are convinced those are the facts.

you and i both (rightly) stated RE:Veyron what is and isn't a major acheivment when it comes to useable power outputs and @IMHO all of Martins Cossie powerplants are just that.

perhaps Messrs Crofter+Matt82 would like to throw their respective opinions on the Reyland's figures??

@Ish....sorry mate i didn't phrase my question properly, what i meant was what was the most extreme Cossie that Martin has done for a customer...purely for Road use.

as many of the members will verify it's rare that i'm speechless....but i look at that thing and WOW.
black rims and a black paintjob and that Escort would look like Satan's company car.

closer to real bhp (ie not complete bs) doesnt make me moist tho, its an escort lol

so more powerful than the Norris car? which had according to certain people, completely fabricated and unacheivable power figures.

are there any reasons why you seem to think the Reyland car is more "genuine" than the Norris Evo?

WOW, such a hugely impressive car. How much does the thing weigh? Can't be much more than around 1200kg?

Ridiculous amount and power, and to think there is more to come :D

The stress on the con rods must be pretty extreme considering the power and rpm given that they are nearly an inch longer?

Can't wait to see it finished, complete beast.

?, Reyland build cars/engines for customers (as far as i know on a regular basis), therefore when sold they become public domain. It would make no sense to lie about the output of your cars when someone else will have the ability to have it RR'd the second it steps out of your shop. Why would a bloke who's got a very good track record as far as honestly and workmanship goes feel the need to lie about power output?, when in reality it wouldnt take long for him to get found out (even though this will be his personal cossie).

Pics weren't working earlier, are now for me.

Absolutely awesome machine, and a huge WOW at that power output! That's incredible from a 2.2l engine! :D

Can't wait for you to update some more!

I think ringing up Top Gear would be an excellent idea. Especially if Clarkson heard about it.

you misunderstand me my friend.
i have absolutely zero doubt that Martins figures are 100% accurate and i consider the Norris Designs Evo in exactly the same way.
my point was that in another thread Matt82 ridiculed a post of mine in which i quoted the ND car having a similar power output....now he seems to acknowledge the figures provided by Martin, yet according to his post in the other thread such power is the stuff cartoons are made of.

quoted below so you can see what i'm referring to:-

a customer's road car can only be as extreme as the customer is willing to pay for. I think the most extreme road car spec so far has been an escort cossie which he did a approx 550bhp engine for which had full leather interior etc.. The most extreme customer's car would be Renton & Porkies 600+ bhp 3 door track car.

please tell me martin has called top gear and asked for a go round the track, iirc clarkson is a bit of a cossie nut, so im sure he'd let you outdrag some supercars when tis built for muchos fun

Martin already tried to get on Top Gear with the last Reyland Escort but they didn't want to know. Maybe Clarkson still hasn't got over the fact that when he was filming a feature for one of his videos which included an Aston Martin & Ferrari Martin turned up in his cossie powered mondeo and destroyed both cars in a head to head race :D. It's a shame the race never made it onto the video

not sure what you are getting at but the power figures are 100% correct

not sure on the weight but the transmission weighs a fair bit.

the longer rods combined with the taller block are part of making this the most reliable Reyland big bhp engine so far ;)

:D but still incredible nonetheless.

it doesn't say how much bigger than 2200cc!!!

Ish can you clarify something for me?
do you work for Martin?

in case you missed my earlier point and thought i was rubbishing the power claims,i'll point you in the direction of the post i was addressing.

Awesome awesome car.

Always have and always will want a escort cossie of my own and looking at this one reminds me why, just gorgeous :D

as regards to power output I cant understand why people dont believe the figures as 700hp is not pushing the upper limits of 2L + turbo, this unit will probally be pretty reliable running that figure :)

Just look at the drag guys to see limits pushed.

Scoobys in aus/nz around 1000hp

Shepherd and docile are at both 1000+ bhp at the wheels now from 2L.(4g63)
