Taken from team polizeis site (http://www.gumball144.com/04rallyDay4.html):

"Although we were glad the Cosworth crew survived with minimal injuries, they have only themselves to blame for the accident. Their outrageous and irresponsible driving nearly destroyed several other cars, including Team Polizei. It's without humor or irony that I say I would not want to drive with them in another rally."

I suppose everyone makes mistakes whilst driving, its just at that speed they are more dangerous and people are less likely to forgive you for them.

Weren't team Polizei the people who illegally got an Italian police car to lead them through a city at very high speeds, needlessly endangering hundreds of people who had to get out of their way  I have even seen a video of them doing as such!

I think everyone on the Gumball probably does some damned dangerous and irresponsible things, from what I've seen these team polizei people were no different? People in glass houses......

Ish - you may be right about clarkson. I'm sure i'm not the only one who'd like to see the Reyland Cossie do a lap of the track, and challenge a few supposed supercars ;)

Perhaps a mass email of TG could get their attention :)

a mass email was exactly what was done last time and they still showed no interest :(

still can't abide them...but i understand why they need to be as eye-catching as possible.
if you can remember it,i LOVED the black photoshopped pic in the last thread about this car.
btw while i've got you,can you give an indication of price and durability of this engine?

The black photoshop would have been a reality by now(the shell etc was purchased) but the guy decided to not proceed with the project. He even started a website but since the project is no more neither is the updates of his website http://www.wrcescort.co.uk/

price is TBA once Martin works out all the details. As for reliability this should be the most durable big bhp engine Martin has ever done to date!

some pics of pro-alloys work on the car

the intercoolers is only 100mm deep!!!

more pics to come soon

Aye, most of them on the Gumball drive like tards to be honest. I'm not bitter that they have nice cars...honest :D.

The Reyland Cosworth did undertook another car that was already being overtaken, got past and tried to cut in front but lost control (they were moving at a fair rate of knots as well). Shame about the car.

The new one looks the dogs though

wow absolutely fantastic, only thing on there that doesnt look brand new is the battery, cant wait to see some vids of this thing moving, how long till its on the road now ish?

battery is just for test fitting!

I think there is only 1 more job that the car will have to go 'away' for and that will be for the custom exhaust. Apaprt from that I think it should just be putting it all together now. As for how long it will take I have no idea but I would say it should be in action for some of the main events this year like TOTB etc

what you interested in buying? :p

How about a nice family car...ford mondeo 4wd cossie?! Standard yb power to 700+ bhp engine specs available?!

Or there is a brand new caged up motorsport shell sitting there just waiting to be built to 'the dark side' spec :D

Just out of interest as I know you are a big fan of cossies like me if you could spec your own dream cossie what would the spec be?

even though a lot of effort has been put into weight things like the cage, brakes and especially the transmission have added weight back on. I'll find out what kind of weight Martin is hoping for though.

for future reference, when i ask a question like that your reply SHOULD be...."no mate,in fact anyone that's ever come into contact with me had to pay more than list price"
my bank manager actually had a heart murmor when i read the above.

i put an Escort RS2000 mk2 with Cossie power together a few years ago with a friend.with this in mind i've been thinking about doing something a little more modern.i've had an investment that i'd forgotten about come in and as it's technically free money i've been pondering what to do with it.
dropping a YB into an A4 Quattro or 3 series beemer would be relatively easy compared with cutting up something like a Focus to fit RWD/4WD.
the A4 idea is appealing to me at the moment although i think the BMW would be the cheapest car to build.

tough question mate...very tough question.
while i would love an immaculate big fin with five tonnes under the bonnet, for sheer hooligan effect you have to go Escort.
if i was paying for it, and we're talking road car use, i'd want something that would last at least 25-30k miles between rebuilds....as much power as possible without the engine turning into a racer ie starts first time every time, totally tractable, smooth delivery and capable of behaving if it were stuck in a traffic jam for an hour.
i'd want to throw as much power at the chassis as possible WITHOUT the need for a cage.i've always preferred the MS90 7 speed but this sequential box Martin has gone for has me very curious.HUGE brakes are another fave of mine even to the point of overkill.
and last but not least...Anti-Lag.
i've never driven a car with one of these fitted, but going by some of the vids i've seen posted OMG it make the car look like it's been flung from a catapult.when not in use do these systems affect the engine at all? or do they only do something when switched on?

"Anti-lag is for girls, homosexuals and cowboys who are trying to mask a poorly-designed system."
