Depends which CoR your on about, thought the theatrical release of CoR was "okish" the directors cut on the other hand, was a whole different addictive kettle of fish, the few short missing scenes they restored to the cut made the DC the only Chronicles to watch.
 
saw this and was hyped but after watching the trailer not too bothered, disappointing.

looks like pitch black 2, again.

Chronicles is epic.. 100x better than pitch black. no idea what some of you guys are smoking.

Hes a great antihero, its a potentially awesome gritty universe with all kind of mega badd ass races and species flying about and we get the same "oh he can see in the dark" themed bounty hunter with a twist story line. 5/10

edit He has a freaking armada and army of necromongers at his feet.... i understand how he would want to give it up but hope they show the inbetween stuff at the start of this

It's gonna suck but it'll suck in the best way :D

Liked Pitch Black, loved Chronicles...wish they'd expanded on the latter instead of a standalone movie.

I don't understand either. I wouldn't go so far as to say Chronicles is rubbish, but it isn't a patch on PB; yet there seems to be quite a few on here who think the sequel is vastly superior. There are quite a few on these forums who are also adamant that Skyfall is a rubbish film. :/
 
Just back from watching this.

Oh dear... thought it was poor, I love the first 2, and was looking forward to this as Riddick is a great character, but this was almost like a made for TV movie (some of the FX were terrible).. watch at your peril.
 
I rather enjoyed it .... 8/10 for me. It wasn't too slow at all, it actually felt more like a survivalist story with a steady build up to the climax. If you expect action from the get go, its not that kind of movie. It plays more to the character of Riddick. My advice, go see it and make up your own mind.
 
My expectations for this film are damn high due to the following reasons:

Pitch Black was one of the most epic Sci-Fi Horror's I'd ever seen but was then followed by the **** that was Chronicles with very little horror or suspense it just felt wrong and I'm hoping this'll bring back the suspense.
 
Saw this last night, almost a remake of pitch black and no follow ups as such on the last film.. just the odd flash back. Missus fell to sleep and I wish I had too..

Nuff said.

Yes.

There is a lesbian, all the men go on about how inferior she is and Riddick says he is going to "****" (have the sex) with her on numerous occasions throughout the film.
 
Saw this last night, if your a big Riddick fan you will love it just because he is simply present, as far as movie integrity goes its not all that fantastic but very entertaining, it was a bit like pitch black but different enough in most places to set them apart.

I don't think they where able to carry on any story with him finding Furya or any more conflicts with the necromongers because of budget restraints, after all Vin had to sell his house to finish it! Chronicles only grossed 116million after a budget of 100m so don't think many where ready to back this one.

As a Riddick Fan 8/10

As a Movie Fan 6/10
