Rift £200 off

I picked mine up yesterday. I've just been playing Robo Recall and it feels like the first time I used a light gun on the NES all those years ago - except totally more immersive. Not sure i'm coping too well with the crawlers that jump at you but it's great so far. I need more games now - just wish they weren't all so expensive.
As lokiss says, there's plenty of cheap, or even free stuff. You just missed the Steam and Oculus sales as well which is unfortunate.

However, don't forget that Lucky's Tale is free on the Oculus store, and so is Herobound and Farlands. Also, check out Rec Room - get a good group of people together and it's one of the most fun things you can do in VR, especially the Quest games.

There's plenty of quality free stuff in the "experience" category on the Oculus store as well, so make sure you look up Henry, Lost, Dear Angelica, The Rose and I, Abe, Allumette, Invasion, Surge, and Senza Peso.

I ordered from the main site on Fri but it could be a little while before I hear from them due to the demand. The hardware will come from Holland and once shipped should take a couple of days and they will not charge until the unit has been sent. Personally I'm hoping to hear from them on Mon night as I just cannot wait. I'm a 65 year old kid and I like my toys.

I would love it if they released something to allow the Touch controllers to work outside of VR. The build quality and feel is way better than my Razer Hydra.
It all just feels so natural especially without all the cables.

I know I have been harping on about it....

But Robo Recall just KICKS MY ASS! :D

Am I right in saying you stay standing pointing in the same direction with Robo Recall? ie: You play without moving your feet basically? So in reality shoot (move your arms) in the 180 degree in front of you?

Not quite, you can move around in true 360 degree and move around in the area that you have defined in guardian but to move forward long distances in the game you basically use the Rift thumbstick to move forward and indicate where you want to go, it works quite well actually...

Sometimes scares the hell out of me when I'm busy shooting infront of me and then forgetting to look over my shoulder to see a big frikkin robot in your face about to punch your lights out. Cue grabbing him and snapping him in half :D

And there's a problem for me. In my study I only have 2m wide x 1.3 deep of space infront of my desk. So I won't be able to turn around a put my arm out in 360 degrees...

My only option here would be to run say 10m cables out of the study for all the Rift sensors and head unit and use it elsewhere... when I need more room. If that's fairly easily done. Great! eg: Plug in the extention cables and just put the sensors in the other room and press an option to configure and voila! Great!

2 x 1.3m? What kind of big ass arms do you have? :p

My study is not too dissimilar in dimensions truthfully and I can certainly manage 360!

(The distance from the front of my desk, to the wall behind me is about 1.3m)

If I move my chair out of the way, and stand a healthy distance from my desk, so I do not risk punching monitors and PCs (on it), I probably then have a 270 degree arc when I can extend my arms. If I was to turn around (on the spot) and put my arms out, I'd be through the wall... ?

If while playing the OR you can play with your feet planted (not moving) and 180-270 degrees (in front of your) is then workable, I should be ok. But if games expect you to turn on the spot and at times be using the space behind you, I'll be putting my arms through a wall.

Note: Robo Recall I believe can expect you to keep your feet planted so you're always facing forwards? Yes? No?
