I just find something inherently irritating about her voice, its nasal and whiny

I'm not a fan of any of this sort of music but I can acknowledge that lady gaga has some catchy tunes and a powerful singing voice, she seems to have a knack of getting the hook for a song bang on so it sticks in your head

oh, and Rhianna has a forehead you could land a flight of f-18's on

I like her songs, I don't really care who has written them, and she looks good, so it's all good in my opinion.

Are you seriously trying to say that pop puppet Rihanna is one of the 'greatest female artists' ever? Sorry for the confusion but witha name like Tom84 I'm guessing you're not a 12 year old girl.

I'm not saying this because I don't like her, I enjoy a few of her tracks if I'm in the right mood for them but her musical talent is pretty minimal.

Just considering current pop, Adele for example is MILES ahead. Not really a big fan of hers either but looking at it subjectively.

Admit it, have you been hoodwinked by the music videos?

I've never really rated Beyonce, sure she's gorgeous, but no way near as much as everyone makes out. Rihanna on the other hand, in that new Kanye video, jesus!!

Talentless tatooed gangsta tramp who couldn't sing anything without aid of autotune and a team of so called 'songwriters' churning out what passes for music these days.

She can't sing at all live and is a perfect example of style over substance shoved down your throats by the media machine.

Sounds a lot like a certain Ms Cole actually, oh wait, surely not another manufactured money making pop puppet for the masses, and hormonal boys by the sounds of it.

Actually I asked the question could she become one of the greatest ever female artists and considering she's only what 22 and had 5 number 1's in this country over the last 5 years I'd say my question is a very good shout tbh.

At the moment she's without a doubt the biggest female artist on the planet.

It's not a tin pot speculative article, it's widely documented.

It depends how you want to define bigger but the best comparison is Lady Gaga who is far more talented than Rihanna and her career is highly likely to outlast and outsell her massively. I could throw around some other names

No, that IS very average. As far as pop goes I thing Rihanna is alright. I don't think singers have to be pitch perfect, I have a lot more respect for an average singer singing live than one who uses autotune or mimes.

Although a singer songwriter especially one who plays an instrument is a million times better. That's not what the discussion is about though. In the world of pop Rihanna is not and never will be the greatest female 'artist' of all time.
