You don't need a subscription for the products to perform their base functions.
Base functions... Nest cameras are practically useless without a subscription. If you only want to use their base functions there are much cheaper products.

So can you get the nest cameras to record to a network storage? You don't need a subscription for the products to perform their base functions.
Have many here got the Ring Doorbell 2 and if so how are you getting on with it?
I've been looking for a while now at buying one and have seen they're currently in argos for £169 with chime
The Ring doorbell 2 is the same resolution as the Pro - 1080p. I think you've made it clear a here you 'don't see the point' in a 'crappy gimmicky' Ring doorbell (or have a clue about owning one) so I think it's fair to say we get it now and you can move on to another thread.their is a HD version now for £239 that is why the Ring 2 is now slightly cheaper.
why spend £240 on a doorbell when you can simply add a CCTV camera for half that? stick the CCTV camera on your front door and it does the same job if not better.
No you won't be able to talk to whoever is at your door but I don't see the point in that personally as it's pretty obvious you aren't home if you are talking to them through the doorbell, it's been widely advertised as such too. I already notify amazon, DPD, etc where to put my parcels using their delivery services.

One of those people you get of forums that feels the need to post in every thread, despite not having a clue or any experience on the subject. It seems to bother him others find use in them...

That's quite a turn around? 'No point', to 'I might get one'!
What bugs are you talking about? They did have when I first got mine, but mine were fixed in a patch over a year ago.
I think as a doorbell it's a gimmick.
I disagree. You're saying the doorbell aspect is just a trick to attract attention to the product. I would say, no, it actually is the product and works great. I don't even see how that's debatable to be honest.
No, it's expected that the Ring Pro is hardwired into your consumer unit but you could use a 24VAC transformer with a normal 3 pin plug such as Dantech DA652
