Well worth whipping the head off and sticking a s/h one on to get it running though, a decent head, head gasket set and timing belt kit would cost peanuts for the Zetec lump.
Now is the time to find out how an engine is screwed together![]()

This is Ford, you're lucky to get something fixed in warranty.
If it was verbal with nothing in writing then it'll be about as useful as writing to the Queen.

Are there DMF issues with the rubbishy TDDi engine?

Given his love of BMW dealer servicing, I don't think Mr Fox is too bothered about learning spannering himself.
Not to mention can you imagine the flood of threads that by comparison would make this one riveting?
RIP Fox's Mondeo. The Motors forum should close as a mark of respect imo.![]()

Agree with dogbreath. I'd get it into the garage and buy some bits, and make it a little project to learn some stuff. If you balls it up then scrap it/sell it broken as you were already going to have to do![]()

He said knob, suspend him Gilly, suspend him!
Personally i'd take this opportunity as a learning experience.
If it was me and I had the space to do it, i'd have a go at repairing it myself and learning as much as possible about the inner workings of the engine bay.
What's to lose, a knackered Mondeo?
Infact, what Jez said![]()
