I'm so old that I grew up thinking you could aspire to be a bit Sean Connery/007 without getting arrested or cancelled. Ah, such innocent times! I blame it on a lack of male role models apart from Starsky & Hutch, Bodie & Doyle, and all the blokes off The Sweeney.

RIP. Complicated character in real life, but what an onscreen presence! I will indulge myself by repeating what I lobbed onto Twitter earlier...

Rather sad when this flashed up on the phone, RIP, really enjoyed any film I watched him in.

There are some pretty big legends getting on a bit now in the acting world.

I always remember that movie as I watched it on a BA flight to San Francisco in 99", even visited Alcatraz, not sure if The Rock was actually filmed there though, funny that, now I think of it.

I still remember watching my first bond film - Dr No ---"three blind mice" - has stuck in my mind forever ( I hope that is what I saw ) -It was the start of a new era.
