RMA Services with ATi graphics cards.

When my xfx card died, they didnt wont to know and I had to send it back to overclockers.

You see, thats the kinda company I would avoid. It might be their policy to send it back to the etailer but, I rather have the option to send it to the manufacturer also.

My 4 month old XFX 4870X2 died and sent to Overclockers who confirmed it was faulty, Ocuk have sent it to XFX around 28th October, have not heard anything yet.

I'm thinking of purchasing my second ATi 5870 but I'm not sure which company to go with. I was thinking Gigabyte because I heard they have a UK based RMA service.

funny thing is, i've purchased 3 giga components and all 3 were sent back. lost any and all trust i had for that company, but i'm sure peeps here will tell you vice versa.

meh, I guess theres bad stories for everyone. I just want a decent reputation company and stick with them.

All companys will have some components that are duff thats a given and while we all prefer never to have to rma a component we all have too sooner or later. That's when i really judge a company because how they deal with it is important and tells you a lot about them with asus i never got any updates no information from the day i sent it back to the day much much later when i got it back. Have had to send one giga back and had emails notifying me they had recieved it and progress updates and was told when the replacement was posted back to me in just under a week. In fact so far only company that has been as good has been OcUK who i have had to use recently for a hard drive problem and Evo has been fantastic absolutely no complaints at all so whatever company you buy from buy it from OcUK so if nothing else your dealing with decent people from the start :).

How Long did it take it get a replacement? Did you deal with them directly?

I delt with OCuk , put up a forum post and one of the admins setup an RMA , after mailing the graphics card 2 weeks ago it was a confirmed replacement 2 days ago , still waiting on the card to arrive tho. Not bad considering the time taken for post to arrive (only SP) time for procedure and then time for replacement to arrive although ofc im still waiting im guessing it will be here next week.

A bit off topic. I recently filed a RMA with Razer, and recieved a brand new mouse back with even more problems. It cost me £10 to send it to Germany, should Razer pay for the postage this time round?

I guess you would have got a new card buy now if the stock wasn't so low.

By the way when you RMA with MSI speak to Fred over in Holland, for me he offered next day collection from my work place.

Haven't Asus sorted out their RMA service?

I am sure I read somewhere on this forum that they now have a 5 day turnaround when you RMA goods with them, whether this is correct or not is a different story though.

No Idea mate, all I know is that I purchased 5x Asus F3ke laptops. Each and every one developed a crack next to the keyboard in exactly the same place within 6 weeks of having the machine.

I photographed the machines, showed receipts, you name it.... Asus claimed that the machines were subject to physical abuse and therefore refused any action on them. There was a simple solution, not give them any more of my money!

Have no personal experience but have read enough to know that Evga and Bfg(Wales)are arguably amongst the best. Keep hoping Evga will go Ati soon.

EVGA are very good, if you live in the USA, the Euro support team are crap, the service slow and more to the point they are very rude.

This is not true.

Myself and my team mates all won 8800 Ultra graphics cards at a Multiplay I Series LAN event attend by XFX and a OCUK competitor. When my clan mates died he contacted them directly and they delt with it.
Surely though that's an exceptional case as those people wouldn't have had proof-of-purchase anyway as they'd won them directly from XFX. Who else could they have dealt with but XFX directly?

This is not true.

I sent back my Sapphire 5850 the day after I got it due to intermittent rattling fan. 2 weeks later OC said I'd have a resolution with 48 hours. Now been 4 weeks so not sure what the hold up is.

I'm guessing the hold up is with Sapphire as I've had replacements/refunds within a couple of days previously here.

DO NOT BUY A SAPPHIRE, DO NOT BUY A SAPPHIRE

The warrenty is an absolute Joke! i had to send my 2900xt to some backwards place in bulgaria (which cost me something like £15) after exchanging emails with some fellow who spoke little english and the 2900xt they sent me back has a dodgy dvi port! Will never be purchasing another one.

I have an xfx now because i know i can send it back to ocuk and they will do there best to sort it out! In this day and age it should not be such a chore to get your card replaced!
