Huh. If you google for something called "strava annual summary" you can pop in your strava user number and it will give you a raft of statistics, which I think includes breaking things down by the type of rides.

very nice. what did that set you back if you dont mind me asking?

It came to £999 after the component changes I made.

Differences from stock are wheelset, crankset, saddle, brake levers/hoods, carbon seatpost, tyres, bars and stem.

Thankfully James works by subtracting the cost of the original component first rather than just adding the cost of an upgraded component.

Originally I wanted to build it myself, but I'm too lazy and I don't think I could have built it for the same cost really.

If anyone wants to get really geeky with Strava then you can add individual components on the bike edits screen. You can now marvel at how many miles you get from a chain...

Who here uses rollers? I'm so tempted to get a set but want to hear some experiences first! I prefer the idea over a turbo as I only have one bike and don't fancy constantly messing around with tyres. Are they easy(ish) to get used to or will I fall and collapse in a weeping heap on the floor?

They take a bit of getting used to. It feels much more like riding a real bike than a turbo does, but it's not a replacement for a turbo.
Rollers dont give much resistance, so it's good for gentle recover rides or fast spinning but you cant do hard power sessions that you can do on a turbo.

For turbo sessions the weight of the wheel doesn't really matter; I bought the cheapest rear wheel I could find on eBay and a cheap cassette. No messing with tyres, just 10s to swap the wheel.

Riding the R5 feels like cheating. Did a soaking wet 35 miles, 2500ft climbing, averaged 17.2 mph. Reclaimed the KOM I lost and set 9 PR's

How cheap is cheap? Decathlon do one for a tenner. It'll scrunch into a pocket. It doesn't breathe well, but that wasn't on your list of criteria ;)

Yeah the one Vonhelmet linked I got for €8 in Nantes. It's incredibley waterproof; it won't breathe well at all though.

Cheers chaps, i was thinking around £30 as i dont really intend to use it just have it for my sportive at the end of the month - a last resort really!

Edit, whats the sizing like on these?
