Just seen your location, I'm working in Leek at the moment. Building up the courage to commute once or twice a week on my bike from Manchester. Solid 60 miles a day. :D

Woah yes, that would be quite a trip. Which way would you plan on commuting? Along the main road for most of the way? Or deviate off through the peaks? :p

I can see the appeal on some summer nights to take the 'scenic' route back.

^ Fair enough £1,864.99 for RED w/ SRAM 950 Chainset & Rival/Force Cassette. I'm sure they're great but I would prefer a proven Canyon CF w/ Ultegra & Ksyrium Elites tbh.

Yeah, I think the best option would just be A6 to Macclesfield then A523 to Leek, any other way is quite a detour and that is about as flat as it gets around here!

At the end of the day there will likely be naff all between frames for us mere mortal users....blindfolded you would struggle to tell (and stay on the bike... :p ).

Yep that's true. I know for me the A523 isn't the nicest road to cycle on. I prefer quieter roads. But any other option is up a hill and a bit out of the way.

:D

I contacted Topeak UK (the Distribution) and said that i couldnt find a bracket for my topeak race rocket pump, as i wanted to change the one i had to the "side" version to be able to have 2 bottles and a pump on he bike

so they told me they dont do them in the UK, but they said they had a few there so if i send them my address they would send me one, and what came through the door the following day? The bracket from Topeak!!

Thats what i call service!

shame they dont sell bikes ;)

Pearson Cycles emailed me saying my bike was finished! I will be collecting on Saturday and hopefully finalise the fit as that saddle looks a bit forward.

Excited! I expect the ride will be harsher than my steel framed Charge, but it should also be considerably lighter and more agile. Service from James @ Pearson Cycles was top notch. He knows his stuff and I had good discussions with him about my build and bikes in general.

Boo, set to rain for my rides tonight and Saturday morning.

You'll be getting wet then? Or do you not go out in the rain?

I've tried to avoid it but in this country it's unavoidable. I had planned a on cracking out a 100 mile effort this weekend but it looks like snow on sunday :(

Aye, I'll be getting wet. It has to be pretty bad to keep me indoors.
