Hmmm, other than probably needing two repair kits, and different feel (different rolling resistances) no real dramas in running a clincher/tub or vice versa?
yea I did look around and was aware they discount the bike by £100 at least once a year but it was about the best drivetrain I could get for the money at the time and I'm happy enough with the bike.
just a big downer. I could have got a nice garmin with the 150 discount + what I spent on a cycle computer anyway![]()
You dont really get a 'repair kit' for tubs. You can use sealant for small holes, but anything too big to be repaired with sealant and you're stuck.
There's places you can send the tub to who will cut the stitches open, patch the tube and stitch it back together for you. It's a little more difficult to replace a tyre as well. You need to glue it on and leave it for 24 hours to cure.
I'll try and find out when they went on offer.
they can try and exclude online only but i did reserve and collect so in reality it's an online order no?

.What are the opinions on mudguards?
Didn't see anything in "The Rules" but don't like getting too wet
Bike is 2004 Cannondale R1000 if that makes a difference to what would fit.
i need to fix the seatpost as its not being gripped properly so it twists and it needs a jubilee clip to keep it up![]()

I personally went with this:
http://www.evanscycles.com/products/topeak/defender-mudguard-set-rc1-rc11-ec033856
Because it's damn easy to put on and remove when I don't need it. It looks 'nicer' on my black coloured bike. At the end of the day, it's mud guard, don't weight a lot but will be a godsent come wetter weather.
I've only had mine on my bike for about a weeks worth when weather forecast rain.
its OK but not a full winter guard.. if you go faster than 20ish/mph some will end up on you.. front i don't have it but it looks like a joke tbh
