I cant see how having a lot of spacers could cause that damage to the headtube. I would imagine that the force on the headtube through the fork when braking hard would be far higher than anything you could do with your arms by pulling on the bars.

It genuinely just looks like a crack in the lacquer, but I wll be taking it to one of the guys in the labs for a second opinion (we manufacture composites and materials, including carbon fibre bike frames - Trek Madone anyone :D?),

yea it's a pitty theres no report option.
I guess mine was an obvious bug as no cycle is going anywhere near 384.8mph
I guess I lost gps signal for the majority of the road or something

How you can scroll thoug the ride and see your position relative for others for me it was just a blink from one end to the other with no travel in between

You can flag a ride to be looked at. I've done it with some where people are doing absurd speeds up hills and so on.

Guys i need to buy a new helmet, mine fell off the shelf last night and the dog destroyed it! I did have a Kask Mojito, now i was thinking of just buying another one of those because it was really comfortable but im also tempted to go for one of the aero ones, Specialized are just about the launch the new Evade which could be cool http://www.sigmasport.co.uk/item/Specialized/S-Works-Evade-Aero-Road-Helmet-2014/2KH0

Or get stick with Kask which i was pleased with but upgrade ot the Vertigo, http://www.wiggle.co.uk/kask-vertigo-road-helmet/ has anyone got any experiance with these?

Go and try them on? Otherwise stick w/ Kask, not really worth taking a punt on something you haven't tried which may end up worse than what you had.

Has anyone got a power meter and do you rate it?

I have a powertap hub.
I'v only used it a couple of times so far. It's interesting to see the numbers but i dont really know what i'm doing with it yet.
I plan to use it over the winter for a more structured training plan and maybe to help pace myself for some TTs.

picked up a triban 3 on saturday for £140.
bargain i would say.
its in really good condition but has odd wheels on it.

Ill just go for the Kask, they do make great helmets.

You seen garmin have launched the power meters pedals?

I <3 my Kask and yeah it's the Garmin Vector's I'm thinking of getting :) My LBS called me this morning to say they were getting a limited supply at the end of the month and taking pre-orders.

The main appeal is how easy they are to transfer between bikes, but my main reservation is how battered pedals get and are pretty much guaranteed to receive impact any time your bike goes over.

Which wheelset did you lace it too? And why aren't you using it more?

I built it with a Halo Aerorage rim.
I dont really have any use for it at the moment. Most of my cycling just now consists of a race at the weekend followed by a few days of recovery rides then a chaingang on thursdays and repeat.
There's no point using it for road racing because there's usually no requirement to pace yourself. It might be useful to analyse the data after the race but i dont know how to do that yet and even if i did, i wouldnt know how to change my training to address any weaknesses i find. So at the moment, it would just be an added distraction (and weight).

I'll learn how to use it properly and try to use it as part of a much more structured winter training plan this year.

Fair enough, worth considering. I was just focusing on the bottom line avg wattage numbers but I see what you mean about making use of analysing the graphs more.

I think average power will be really handy for pacing in time trials. I havnt done any TTs since i got it but i think i'll stick it on for my next one.
Average power wont be much help in a road race though, the pace goes up and down too much and loads of different things can happen - you might just be sitting in the middle of the bunch rolling along or you might be in a break on your own. All of the different things that happen mean that the average power is not the maximum power that you can hold over the distance like it would be for a TT.
