I've been thinking about getting a charity place as I missed out in the ballot but I'm not sure how I can go round asking for cash for charity for something that I actually want to do myself. How are you justifying it?

Well, I'm already appealing for donations to my California ride so this would directly conflict with that. People would get charity fatigue. Also, my family is fundraising separately for THT in memory of my brother and despite having raised over £2500, none of that can count towards my Ride100 entry.

I will probably just make a £500 donation to myself.

Yup, been lovely today in central scotland but was icy as hell everywhere first thing this morning.

Looking similar sat/sunday as well.

Had the day off today so went out for the longest ride I've done :

I got lost down a muddy track so had to walk for 2 miles so reckon my average speed would have been around 15.5 - 16 mph which I'm pleased with.

Gentlemen, the battery on my Garmin Edge 605 is dying, and it now lasts only an hour or so. What should I replace it with? The Garmin Edge Touring Plus looks good, but the Edge 800 is only slightly more expensive.

The touring is a poor substitute for the 800 iirc.

don't get the touring one, its missing stuff from the 800, I would just get the 800

I'd just buy a new battery to replace your existing one but if it's an excuse to get a new unit then a Edge 800.
