I had a similar graze/cut on my elbow after a failed 180 on my BMX! took ages to heal up.. never went to doctors tho

You didn't? lucky you still have your arm! I had IVs of antibiotics and all sorts!

It was funny though, went from 'oh i'll be OK and ride home' to being taken into surgery 24hrs later! Next time i'll be heading straight for A & E..

Luckily my standard rides in Glasgow and Perth both follow the prevailing wind so anything up to 40mph gusts or so is fair game. It ain't particularly pleasant, and if it turns to a side wind all bets are off.

I once went down a big, steep, technical descent during 40mph+ gusting sidewinds. Holy hell that was terrifying, and I don't even have deep aero rims.

Still got a 2-2.5" scar on my elbow from that! mine was long and deep but not wide like yours, that could be why.. but I lost a lot of skin!

was more worried about my broken foot at that time lol.

 Are you actually Bruce Willis?

I'm guessing that It wasn't as bad as the above! it was quite bad, white bits of meatyness(w/e part of my elbow that was) was sticking out, blood etc.. took probably a month-ish to heal up to a point where I could touch it.

I was on pain killers for a few days because I broke my foot on 2nd jump, tore tendons etc in my ankle and that possibly reduced the worst of pains.

Decisions decisions, where to ride tonight... It looks like it'll be windy and quite probably wet... But not if I go up the big hill.

Big hill it is, I guess.

They didn't say, or if they did I wasn't paying attention - got an appointment with a GP on friday to redress the wound so i'll probably find out then

For anyone who wants to see a pic of the mess - click below, but it's a bit grim!

Thinking about , sure they out a gauze over with a cream which contains vit b? or something which helps promotes skin growth.

Your arm looks exactly like mtb bikers knee did before they operated on it when I was hospital.

Least you've got it patched up.:)

blimey, windy today on the bike !

not been out for a week and a half due to illness :(

good tail wind coming home though :D until a van over took me and decided to slam his brakes on and pull into the kerb :rolleyes:I was doing 25 MPH then, in a 30 zone

Easily one of the most annoying things some motorists do, that. Dangerous and easily avoided with just a bit of patience.

funnily enough, soon as I left the house, got onto the main road, 20 mins cycling on said road, car behind me over takes me on the other side of the road with a car coming the other way!!! all I hear is BEEEEEEEEEEEEEP !!!!!!

Sigh. Never understand the rush in these situations. They can just wait like 2 seconds and not put someone's life at risk....
