First decent length ride and first time back in Surrey since my accident:
http://www.strava.com/activities/190609822

Did some Box Hill repeats to test out my form - not at 100% but hopefully will make some gains over the next few weeks before the hill climb season starts!

I also saw probably the maddest thing ever on today's ride - a massive bright pink stretched limo. Descending box hill. Luckily I came across it at the start of the climb not at one of the hairpins!

Theres been a massive pink stretched limo parked on the embankment most of the week - maybe its the same one!

Did my 3rd (2nd on TT bike, 1st was 3yrs ago on road bike and 2nd was last year) 10mile Time Trial on Tuesday.

Took me 26:49.

So disappointed as I was hoping for better but some setup issues with bike (kept going to gear below or gear above randomly every 30s!). 2nd time on the bike this year as 1st time it broke a pedal......
Overall though I can't be disappointed really though and maybe I'm being too harsh. Cycled the 25mile round trip to work and back 3 times this week with every return trip 20+mph and every run into work in traffic at 18.5+mph.

Doh! Gear cable snapped today adjusting my rear derailleur.

This was about 2 cm from the shifter. No spare, so a cheapy Clarks one will have to do for now. Bargain at £1.80...

Incredulous chat on the Vuelta commentary about the pros putting on 30t sprockets and 34t small rings for today's stage. The gears of mere mortals!

I was really miffed with myself because I didn't get out for a ride all week despite a couple of early finishes and this morning my 'just 5 more minutes' ended up being over an hour. So to make up for it I got out this evening. So nice riding in the cool evening air but I need a new set of lights and the best of my current ones will be my back up lights.

Going to try a cheepie cree from ebay for up front and a Moon Comet for the rear.

So. A little over 12,000 ft climbing in the past two days. Those two days have actually increased my yearly climbing by 10%

I think it's all starting to catch up to me as I sit her filled with curry and beer (must get rid of all that health that I have acquired through exercise:p). Time for some sleep I think.

Just watched this. Amazing win for Hesjedal, and well done to Froome and Rodriguez for getting past Contador.

I watched it live, having woken up with about 16km to go, was not expecting that finish, Hesjedal was brilliant at the end to get back to Vaugg and then just sprint away using the bikes to hide (which have been a major problem this year)

Then the main group, was good to see Valverde dropped, can't stand the bloke, and then Froome starting to show his power, on a stage I didn't think would suit him, I think if the sky boys are fresh today, he should do well on the final climb, long steady climb Especiale Category! :D

Well I got my Garmin, went out to test it. Had a van emergency stop infront of me, slammed front brake on too hard and went over the bars head first into the van. Now I'm in hospital just about to have surgery for a fractured vertebrae. :-( the bike apparently is a mess but I didn't see it myself. Will be a long recovery from this. I'm gutted it happened.

Jesus Christ, hope all goes well - bright side, at least the weather's on the turn!

Also, is it same as car rules, whoever goes in the back is to blame? I hope not
