quite chilly this morning! full finger gloves this time, rest seemed to be ok! no ice as far as I can see, is it really below 0 around you guys? was 5c on my garmin this morning

I'm the same, been in shorts and just a base layer all week. If I put anything else on, I'll regret it within 5-10 minutes.
Once you get past the initial shock, it's fine. I could do with a long sleeved base layer or arm warmers though. According to Strava it was 0-1'C, didn't feel that bad though.

Has anyone been able to login to that magazine subscription website yet? It still can't find my account :/ Was hoping to cancel the subscription before I forget.

I was freezing last night and I had all kinds of layers on!

Even with two pairs of gloves I had no feeling in my hands!

On that topic I think I'm going to get myself a better winter jersey

anyone signing up to the Etape Du Tour for next year? Registration starts today, I'm in again gives me some motivation to cycle through the cold months!

Looks to be a slightly tougher route next year with three big mountains to get over and a lot of other good ones in the area so looking to make a 10 day trip out of it - cannot wait!

Wanting to, but can you just register without going through the other companies, I just want to book for the ride itself and sort everything else out myself.

Yes that is what we do every year, go to the http://www.asochallenges.com/attente/old/pre-wait.php?destination=en-EN

this will have a holding page (queue) at the moment which will change when you reach the front. You will need to then login or create a user and go through your order.

You want to go for Single BIB option if you dont want any sort of package, this is just your entry(bib) number all travel, accommodation etc you need to then sort out yourself. Be aware places that are close do fill up quickly and the tour itself is in the area a couple of days later putting more strain on accommodation.

It looks quite a good one to do from a logistical point of view as the start/end points are not too far from each other. Nothing worse than emptying yourself on the route and then having to travel miles to get home.

I'm hoping for better weather next year as I have never been colder than descending off the tourmalet this year!

Cool Thanks, will sit on the page! Website said it wasn't open until 9th for asos challenge! Bloody etape!

Im planning to go to France with a few mates next year, we're looking to hit the mountains. I know a few of you have been before and was just wondering if i could get some quick advice. Nothing major at this point, but i was wondering, which is the best mountain to tackle if your not a mountain goat:D and where do you stay? do you fly with bike? or road trip it?

Just looking to draw up a few costs
