Apologies for being a dick given everyone else is having a tough time but I feel great at the moment.

I'm in this camp :-P few great turbo sessions since new year and really happy with my form up puig after 6 days of solid riding. Although weighed myself today and actually put on 1.2kg whilst away! :-$ back to eating healthy and going to try cutting out a big chunk of gluten from my diet.

It's been alright here in London! Icy in the mornings and with my ruined rear quite dangerous but no snow yet! while I love snow, cycling in London would be seriously dangerous! Even tho I did it before on slicks, with my lack of confidence these days after the crashes it would take me 2 hours haha..

Apologies for being a dick given everyone else is having a tough time but I feel great at the moment. Got plenty of rides in over Christmas and had a solid 6 weeks of base turbo work before that. Managing to get in at least 3 quality sessions per week including racing. :) Aiming for a 100km ride every month this year and knocked today's off in just over 3 and a half hours.

I also picked up points on both track league nights I've made it too. Need to write those up. Feels like things are heading the right way.

High 5!

Metric century club for January!

Didn't you guys realise what Grudas meant whenever he said "Keep pushing ;)"?

My current bike really is starting to fall apart. The rear (tyre!) is shredded - have some Pro4 Grip on the way to replace that and the front. The bit where the rear cog attaches is knackered due to me over-tightening it one time. I think I was just half asleep and spent a few minutes "loosening" it the wrong way  Either way, end result is that it's fked and next time I need to replace my cassette I'll prob need to chuck the whole thing. On the way to work today I noticed some more weird clicking from near the pedals - I'm hoping is just that they have become loose or something.

Two weeks until my enforced break from cycling, then another up to a month until I'm able to ride again. Hopefully during that period I'll have bought most of my new bike bits and I'll only need to ride my current one for a week or two before I can move to my shiny new one.

What's a good ratio of elevation per say 10 miles to aim for?

What is it you want to do with your riding?
^^^ This!
At the moment its a means of creating a calorie deficit whilst trying to learn a new hobby :)

I really enjoy the rides I'm doing at the moment, great to get some fresh air and not take things too seriously, but I always crave some progress :p

I guess it's either aim for doing my routes quicker or add in some more hills/distance.

Location matters a huge amount too, if you have no hills in easy reach then there's not much point trying to do a hilly ride, you'd be better working on endurance (then you can actually get to the hills and back at at later stage!).
Best aim is to explore all your local quieter roads, you'll soon find some you can 'race' yourself on (no traffic, good surface etc) and others you'll choose to avoid (lots of busy junctions/traffic/always muddy roads).

I'm feeling good too, really pushing myself on the Turbo has made me enjoy my riding more. Also the not-totally-soaked-all-the-time weather has helped when commuting, although it has been cold!

Good work with the points and progress!

You should have no excuse for not enjoying yourself and feeling fantastic! :p

All the climbing you may have just built muscle? Along with plenty of good eating? ;)

Did a quick turbo session and my commute this morning with the 810 and IpBike, I'm almost there with the Garmin (if I can find a way to stop the screen auto switching!). Would be nice to tailor the screen data too - I'm not fussed about my speed or even time that much, would like to see cadence and HR/zones instead! (more playing required!)

I've noticed some discrepancies too:

Testing ride 1 (IpBike)
Testing ride 1 (810) - ~70 ft more climbing, different distance?!

Turbo 1 (IpBike)
Turbo 1 (810) - 1 minute longer elapsed time (auto-stop working against me, wheel may have been still spinning)

Commute 1 (IpBike)
Commute 1 (810) - Much shorter elapsed time so higher average speed (auto-stop working in my favour!)

I should just accept the fact the data will be different between the 2 and providing the Garmin data is consistent there's nothing to worry about!

To stop auto scolling screen - go to settings, then activity profile, then select your profile. then select auto scroll > auto scroll speed (think you put 0 for none scrolling)

Also I know on the 500 you can put whatever you want on whatever screens on the display.

Should sort it for you.

You've given in to the dark side :D

Which version did you go for? I wanted to order more Pro4 Endurance tyres but CRC only have the two packs for Service Course and SC Grip so I went for the grip.

endurance, 20quid/each at wiggle :o 25c will do, don't really want to go back to 23c! we'll see how they perform! reviews are kinda mixed, either very good or very bad?

Damn...Why didn't I check Wiggle :( Ah well, I'm sure the Grip will be okay.

Endurance are awesome tyres. I don't think you'll regret them :)

I've barely ridden yet this year, because it's been too windy and then too cold, hence why I siezed the opportunity to get out both yesterday and today as soon as I could be sure ithat wasn't icy.
I've ridden 3 times a week this year so far, but only indoors on my rollers, usually for 45 minutes :(. The roads are pretty treacherous so I'm not overly keen to risk an off.

Pro4 Endurance are the best tyres I've ever used.

that's good to know! it'll take a while again to gain confidence on new tyres! boo!

well, I have two days to kill my rear ;) this will be fun :D

Nice ride today, more PRs and a better average speed.

Just need to add another 10 miles/500ft to my ride :p

Your pretty close to me. I did a lot of those roads in the summer, love the roads around Goodwood. Looking at your ride, I seem to remember Singleton having a pretty nasty hill.
Anywho, let me know if you ever want some company :)
