Taking one friend who's new to cycling and another that is recovering from a knee injury for a very easy paced cycle to Lyme Park. Should be fun though it'll make my weekly average speeds look even worse than they already are :p

I did this with a family member between Xmas and New Year and it was very painful. Going so slow for 3 hours was tourture and I was freezing all the way round. Average was 11mph over 37 miles.

As good as it was for them I'll not be repeating it.

I don't mind doing these sorts of rides, but only in the summer :D

Ended up being 13mph overall average though for the 20ish miles that the new rider was with us I imagine it was a bit slower. The other guy that was with me for the entire ride is a capable rider - he's just having to take it slowly due to his knee.

It was cold but to be honest it wasn't too boring or anything. Part of the route we rode wasn't really suitable for road bikes so I doubt I'd have been much faster by myself on that bit :p

Yup, it'd definitely be nicer if it wasn't so ridiculously cold :D

Yeah I don't think I'll manage that, an hour for 3 laps would be good tho? What was you avg speed for those 3? :)

An hour for 3 is the classic target to aim for in Richmond Park. Requires an average of 20.1mph or something.

My PB was 22mph average. KOM has a time of 45:53 @ 26mph :eek:
 
Went out drinking last night and have felt well and truly rotten all day today, still have a headache!!! Gah! Club run tomorrow....going to be hard the way I'm feeling right now. Fairly flat route though so should be ok.

Going to make the GCN energy bars tonight...pics to follow.
