After deciding I'm not going for the bike, I have now spent a couple of hours "working", by reading up on Chinese carbon wheels. I think a set of 50mm clinchers might be in my near future.

I've got 46mm Reynolds Assaults. You can generally pick up second hand ones for half price on eBay. I love mine.

I've tried this Strava app but 2 out of 3 rides it has stopped half way through, I don't notice it as it in my jersey pocket.
My phone is locked any ideas why? It is on my HTC desire btw.

Doesn't help directly, but I always track my rides using Endomondo. You can then export any rides from there and upload them to Strava without issue.

Will be interested to hear what the RS80's and the chinese carbons are like if you do go ahead Element.

@touch - have planetx changed things round recently? Because looking at the site now the 50mm clinchers are 1800g the tubs being just under 1500g. But I'm in agreement with you, I'm sure I saw 1500g clinchers a few weeks back

No, sorry, my bad.
I was looking at tubulars on PX.
You can get lighter clinchers (like the chinese ones that 6th linked) but i dont think PX have ever had any different ones.

At work I keep one of those evolutions and a 10kg motorcycle lock. If you can leave locks at work the buy heavier ones.

Don't bother with cable locks. Generally the cables are nowhere near as thick as you think, they are mainly plastic. Bolt croppers, the theifs weapon of choice, will go through them in seconds.

U-locks are the best option and the thicker the better. Even a 16mm thick chain or u-lock can be cropped in under 30s. Cable locks don't even come close to that long.

I'll be recording it as I'm out for a long one tomorrow (107 miles). I'll then be doing my utmost to avoid seeing the result before I've watched it and probably failing, as was the case with Paris-Roubaix.

My ride buddy wants one with no hills this weekend.

Hahahahahahahahahahahahaha.

May as well make it 60 mile then.
Evesham might be the way forward as that is cut between the Malverns and the Cotswolds :)

I will be. Coverage starts at 2:00pm on eurosport.
I'm on call this weekend so i cant go far on my bike anyway :(

I'll be cheering for a Gilbert win. He hasnt done all that much this year and it would be nice to see him get back some of the form he had at the beginning of last year. It would also be his 3rd consecutive AGR win if he can do it.
