Also, my non drive side crank arm seems to cause a big vibration and noise when standing up on the pedals. Any idea what is causing this or what I could do to check it over.

That's the consequences of doping. He's not the only one, but he's the biggest one. Cycling needs to be clean.
It does, but if he's not the only one then he shouldn't be so publicly hung out to dry if they're not going to do anything about everyone else.
In non-Lance news... Who has cycling/bike insurance? My home insurance won't cover bikes unless I pay loads, and dedicated cycling insurance looks a better bet in terms of what I get for the money anyway. Who are the good providers? What are the excesses like on bike insurance?

I had my bike insured with ETA for a replacement cost of £1100 - the premium was £108 a year.
