I'm trying to decide what to do with this Equipe frame. I'm pretty sure about selling the Bob Jackson on - question is whether I sell it complete or take the wheels and cranks off for a later project, which depends how much money I think I'll realistically get. I'd be looking for about £350 complete. I think I want to keep the gears on the Equipe. I need to get a pair of small-flange hubs so I can use the rims and spokes I've got in the box and I'll pinch the derailleur and freewheel block off her bike because she expressed an interest in swapping it to single speed. Oh and I'll need some pedals too.

But then I could keep the Bob and stick some aero bars on it. Choices, choices...

I had my bike serviced last week and the two rides if had since getting it back have felt much more difficult than pre service.

Does anyone know of something that could have been done to cause this or do you think it could be psychological?

(The service was the free one offered by the lbs to deal with any chain stretch)

What size is the Bob Jackson?

Cycled this morning from my doorstep in Clapham to Brighton train station in 3:30. Fairly happy with that as it's my first time getting sub 4h for the 54ish miles, although I didn't get lost this time which probably helped!

Got mega cramp in my quads going up Ditchling Beacon. How can I prevent that? I thought I was well fed and hydrated.

Low salt causes cramping iirc

Fairly standard 40 miles this morning. Some brutal crosswinds at times - a couple of us nearly got knocked off. Strava on my phone is saying we climbed 2000ft+ but I want to check online as sometimes it's a bit mental on my phone.

I've had one of those joe blow pumps for a good 3 years and it's been great. Some weedy folk find it hard to pump beyond 90psi but my lard ass is more than capable.

Snapped my front mech cable today. Annoying! I thought it had just slipped out but it's all frayed and fallen to bits so I'll need to grab another one.

I also really need a pump I can take out with me, anyone got any suggestions?

Cheers, will take a look. Just dropped it off at my LBS for a new cable and gear service, needs anyway doing so may as well let them do the whole job even though I'm more than capable of changing a cable :)

Back to the hybrid for a day or two!

It's amazing what a week of rest can do. Apart from the daily commute haven't felt like getting on the bike since last week's solo century. But as the sun was shining when I woke up I thought I would have another go at the same solo century today.

Last weeks stats: Avg 15.6mph, Avg Cad: 86 rpm
This weeks stats: Avg 16.4mph, Avg Cad: 92 rpm 100.06miles in 6hr 5mins.

Was a bit surprised uploading to strava and saw 39 cheevos including a KOM which I thought would be one of those rubbish segments ridden by 3 people lol.

So was quite surprised to see this:

Surely if everything spins freely then it's all in your head.

Great run in to work this morning, the spoke reflectors work an absolute treat!!. Couple of PB's on Strava, thoroughly enjoyed it despite the early start.

Run home at 18:00 wasn't great though, wind was horrendous, driving right into my face. About 30 mins in it was one of those 'I just want to be arriving home now' moments but still had another 20 mins to go. Hard going, was annoyed to be down to single figure speeds at one point for a short period when the wind was at its worst!!. :(

looks ace
must get something like that myself

Just been for a walk, and a guy rode by me on a boardman bike and a teamsky jersey on! arrg cant wait to get a bike so much more now!

You'll need a track pump if you have a road bike full stop really. Got a puncture today and it took like 10 mins to pump the tyre up to a responsible pressure with my micropump, shoulda not cheaped out and got a double pump one i think.

Not sure if anyone sponsored me for the below, as I have a couple of anonymous donations, so if you did, thanks.

Did the Peak District Challenge today, the hardest thing I've ever done. I'm in agony but well pleased with what I've achieved. Some really treacherous conditions with all the rain this week, but at least the weather held out today. Some were saying that this was the equivalent of a century of road miles. Not sure about that but it wouldn't surprise me.

Here's the route.

Thanks again if you did sponsor me.
