Ah I see. I was going to keep riding my Rose until they start salting the roads and only ride on dry days.

How much did they cost you?

What do you do when you get a puncture?
Do you have a spare tyre with you, or some kind of sealant?

I would use tubs for racing, but they seem like too much hassle for not much benefit on training wheels.

Quick question folks - 2096 or 2097 trip computer setting for 700x23 tyres?. Cateye website says 2096, Sheldons charts on his website say 2097?. Which is correct?

Doesnt really matter, the difference is about 0.0005%. (Roughly eqivalent to 80metres difference after 100miles)

I don't mind Sat or Sun as long as it isn't going to rain.

I usually bring a rucksack with tools in so that shouldn't be a problem. I was hoping someone else would choose a route as I'm terrible at navigating (really want a Garmin 800), but I'd say maybe a 30-50 mile loop ending up back at Richmond Park?

Never done so many miles in one go ;) that would be interesting to see how will I do

Time to get spare tubes.

So how many people we have as for now?
Time to make a plan?

you can run a £4 bottle of sealent inside the tubs similar to what you fit running tubeless, but i jst carry a spare tub with me if its a long ride or a can of vittoria pitstop if its a chaingang run etc.

We've had a few asking after cheap bikes lately, so just a heads up that there's a triban 3 on sale in London on eBay at the moment. Worth a look if it's the right size for anyone down that way.

I fancy doing a long ride this Sun, weather permitting. I'll have to make sure I'm properly fed this time though. The last one I did (37m) I started to really feel it around mile 30 and had to make an emergency stop for chocolate and lucozade. Serves me right for skipping dinner.

I'm probably up for it this weekend coming if the forecast stays decent. I was meant to be going rock climbing, but I don't think I will be now.

Went out on Sunday, looking to get another small ride in, didn't notice how cold it was, (9deg) rode for about 3 mile decided my head was ready to drop off, got so cold i started to feel ill, turned back for home.

Now i have man flu :(

I really need a cap to go under my helmet, it simply allows far too much air to go past my head!

You should be fine doing 30 miles if you're in reasonable shape. Even 50 should be ok if you've got some decent food and it's not massively hilly.
What do you mean by decent food, might be able to buy some if needed:)

Which day? Maybe Sunday?
After rowing on saturday , Ive committed myself to help and clean boats and boat house along with others....god knows what time we will finish.
I'm penciled in for a row on Sunday but that can be changed..

Time to back in to saddle....was ill and messed my finger and couldn't grab anything properly for a while...
