If you move the wheel past the sensor you should hear a faint clicking noise. Then you know if it is lined up correctly and registering wheel movement.

I never set the wheel size on mine, it just automatically worked that one out somehow!

I checked and moved it along the spoke slightly, as the notch on the sensor arm is towards the end. I had it setup in the middle of the arm.

It still registered with the green LED when pedalling so I thought it was correct, perhaps when pedalling at speed it was a bit dodgy. I'll probably be able to get out on the bike on Tuesday or Wednesday to test it, working away and it might be the start of the Water Polo season on Tuesday.

***** its cold this morning!
arm and leg warmers werent enough! need to invest something warmer!

Last winter I managed to go through with long sleeves base layers from HH and just altura rain jacket. So not much considering that those base layers are pretty thin.

And do we know what distance we would be making??

And most important : when would we meet? Few weeks time?

I don't mind Sat or Sun as long as it isn't going to rain.

I usually bring a rucksack with tools in so that shouldn't be a problem. I was hoping someone else would choose a route as I'm terrible at navigating (really want a Garmin 800), but I'd say maybe a 30-50 mile loop ending up back at Richmond Park?

You can take the magnet off completely and it should log your speed based on GPS alone. That's what I've done because the magnet based figures were off - maybe check your batteries if they're not also brand new. When the batteries get low the sensor is a bit hit and miss.

The above is obviously no good on a turbo however.

This morning i used :

Short Sleeved Jersey
padded shorts
Arm Warmers + Leg Warmers
Fingerless Gloves

thats it

My Fingers froze and i felt pretty cold !

Yesterday I wore:
Bib shorts
Arm + Leg warmers
Short sleeved Jersey
Thermal T-shirt
Altura Night vision jacket

Everything bar the thermal tshirt (which was dry) was pretty much soaked (sweat or condensation?) when I got home... I don't think my jacket is very breathable.

I can't believe how nice the weather is here today yet I'm still stuck without the bike! Specialized have told the lbs to give me a new saddle under crash replacement, but the lbs won't give it to me. :(

my first ride (although i think the seat isnt in the correct position still)
and ignore the HR i didnt have it on me

Not bad, but you need to get your cadence up, 60 is way too low, will destroy your knees and make it a lot tougher to ride.

Anything less than 80 feels really tough for me, with a high 80 feeling optimal on the flat, 90+ uphill if I have a low enough gear to use sitting.

Thanks for the tip

i thought 60-65 felt quite comftable, anything below that i started to struggle

will do a lower gear next time i ride somewhere, cheers

Been away with work for a few weeks, I arrive home to deliveries :D

So I built it up this morning. I ordered the wrong seat post and they sent out the wrong saddle.... so I'll be speaking to planet-x on Monday to get it all sorted.
Haven't sorted the gearing yet, will probably tackle that tomorrow.

What an absolutely glorious day. Clocked 60 miles solo yesterday and 65 miles today with one of the local cycling clubs. Feeling pretty bonked now though, time for a well earned Sunday dinner :)
