The batteries still worry me, i was a pc engineer years back and i remember seeing the Dells blown up when they had that battery issue - im still stuck on what to go for but looking like going for something thats tested and with a UK warranty etc so you jump prices massively :(

If it uses 700cc tyres which is the standard size for road bikes, you can use any tyre that fits the rim size.

If it uses 26inch tyres (mountain bike size) then there are slick options, but they usually tend to be more expensive.

by night i mean - unlit country roads so you can't see the sides of the road.

There is a thread on Piston Heads about bike lights, one chap recommended this ebay CREE. I ordered one, and it's superb, I also ordered the wide angled lense to spread the throw evenly which makes a hell of a difference. Great little things :)

I have a Boardman Team Carbon with SRAM Rival although i think the cassette is a Shimano item. Looks easy enough to change a cassette (with the right tools).
Wheels are average (or less) stock Richey DS Pro items.

Shimano/SRAM cassettes both fit the same hubs, so you dont need to worry about the actual branding on the cassette (as long as it isnt Campagnolo :p)

Yep, it is. You'll need a chain whip and a cassette tool. Everything only fits on one way round, so you cant get it wrong.

hmm

i was up that way today, i went to Milldale and walked all day, only just got home

anyway, when i was up that way i think i went through or near Hartington , i wonder if i drove past you ;)
 
Whats the difference between the 3K Matte and UD Matte options, any ideas?
Pros/cons with 50mm or 60mm clinchers versus the 38mm items?
