My usual washing routine is...

Chain first, using the chain cleaner if it's really bad.
Muc off on the whole bike, then leave for a bit (but don't let it dry)
Blast off with a hose (not a pressure washer)
Only areas where there's a lot of dirt do I actually use a brush to clean. Most times, after applying the muc off, and then using a hose, the dirt just washes off.

Then some wet lube on the chain, and sometimes some silicone spray on some moving parts, like brake calipers and dérailleurs.

My bike is getting filthy very quickly at the moment as its being used to do 30 miles a day and I don't (yet, waiting for them to be delivered) have mudguards so might look at getting some brushes.

Anything to make cleaning easier as I don't want to be spending ages every day cleaning the bike.

You'd be amazed how much a difference mud guards make. Since fitting mine, I've had some very wet and mucky rides, the bike doesn't get very dirty at all!
My saddle bag which is usually covered in crap, doesn't have a spot of dirt on it. Which is a shame as I spent a bit extra on a fully waterproof one!! Oh well....

My backpack I use for commuting normally gets covered in crap but I normally put that in the wash every week or so.

I went with the Road Racer mk2s from Amazon, should have them by the end of the week hopefully.

I've been told I should have ordered some SKS ones as I have all the necessary holes in the bike to fit proper mudguards.

If the Road Racers are too much hassle I'll just send them back.

I don't have those extra holes, so I didn't have a choice. And I found out about that the hard way lol!

If you don't get on with the road racers, let me know as I have a set of SKS mud guards (proper good ones) now gathering dust in the garage.

Finished :)

bad chest infection and trouble breathing - short breath, can be easily cured by antibiotics...as I said, it is with me for way too long and doesnt want to go away..

after over 1 year after quitting smoking, I still have cough and trouble breathing now and then...

Fair enough. So long as your doctor can tell the difference between a cold and a chest infection and they're not an overprescribing fool then it's all good.
