I'm got a dinky 10 litre Dueter pack that I carry shirt, underwear plus phone and wallet. Barely notice it.

I the summer when I can wear polo shirts I just shove it all in a jersey.

I wish I had a 'winter bike'. I just have a bike. :(

I have a bike, it's a winter bike in winter hence the mudguards
it's also a summer bike in summer, hence the mudguards!

Just done 38 miles and 2600ft. Just as we got near home, a bunch of fog appeared and the temperature dropped way down. By the time I got home I had ice on my gloves and sleeves. Glad that didn't happen while we were up at the back of beyond!

Attempted the notorious "Rake" in Ramsbottom. Got halfway and walked the rest. My companion made it up, so well done him.

I've got a bit of a crazy idea for a new fixie (n+1).
A Pompino Frame (either purchase the frame or the Pompino bike)
http://www.planet-x-bikes.co.uk/i/q/FROOPV3/on_one_pompino_frame_2012

Change the front fork to a Pompetamine to take a front disc brake.

Source a new front wheel that's able to take a disc brake (any suggestions???) and a front disc brake and lever to make a fully fledged fixie with front disc brake for winter (n+1!).

Thoughts?

my BBB Arctic shoe covers arrived today, and these must be heavy duty, they feel much better than my other ones i bought, so i put them on, they fit better and my feet felt warmer too, so should be good for Sunday now

oh and i got my "proper" pedals on now, an tips for using cleats?

been trying to get in and out of them for 30 mins in the shed

A proper road wheel with a disc mount will probably be very expensive.

Get a cheap MTB hub on ebay and a road rim (check the width of the hub compared to your fork width tho).
Either build it yourself or get a local shop to do it.

I can honestly say that was not a fun ride home. Thick fog and everyone had their high beams on so it was like riding through glowing smoke. Couldn't see a thing...

Head over to LFGSS theres a pompino thread where people have done pretty much exactly that

Yeah, my ride back was like that. As soon as we got to the reebok, this mass of fog appeared. We could barely see 20m on the A6. The Chequerbent roundabout was a bit scary in this sorts of conditions!

they came with my shoes
i use specialized with shimano SPD pedals

SPD's are easy to get in and out off, only tip i can give you is that if you're coming up to a junction/lights etc always be prepared in your head to have to unclip it's getting caught by surprise and trying to unclip in a fraction of a second or trying to put your foot down without unclipping is when you fall off.
