I have a Pashley Roadster Sovereign, one word, its awesome! Its really unstretched comfortable upright ride, really well covered so i dont get any splashes of dirt on my clothes when in the rain and I look like the king of the road on it!

I'd go for the Sovereign over the standard one as it has dynamo hub, light, more gears and a bigger bell!

I just got some brick lane bike panniers for mine and it looks awesome and i can carry my baegels in it now too.

Those Pashleys are actually a lot of bike for the money (literally and figuratively). I didn't realise they were around the £700 mark, I as expecting at least double that.

Jeese, a Brookes saddle and a pait of SMPs is £120 alone.

I have tried to look at the Z5, but I keep getting side tracked by the Fs 1-4. An F1SL frame in my size went for £850 on ebay the other day. Gutted I didn't even bid because I thought it would go for loads.

Keep looking mate. People put great frames on there all the time ;)

New jersey arrived :D.

Matches the bike nicely!

A Scott jersey on a CB? Sacrilege! ;)

I totally agree, but:

a) The Boardman jersey only comes in M or L and I'm very much a S, if not XS.
b) The Boardman jersey doesn't even have black as its base colour: it's grey! Urgh...

Have to say the material of the Scott is very nice though, and much nicer having a full length zipper rather than my old half-length Endura one.

Nice, I like the Scott jersey :-) Where did you get it?

I'll be looking at a Scott Sportster P3 2008 model tonight (9 to 11 miles comute one way), so will need to be going through this thread. Probably going to go for a Specialized Align helmet and a Cateye EL530 as on dartmoor roads and possibly a wide dark cycle track.

Whatever happens tonight, it will be entertaining as I haven't cycled since a kid really, and am now 33.

You could have a look at the Shutt VR jerseys, they are very nice. An alternative, perhaps a little cheaper, is Torm.

looking into buying a road bike, got about 600 to 650 to spend on a bike. Had a look at the specialized allez in their store.
I've not got a clue over the groupsets available for road bikes, the allez comes with a shimano 2300 I think, I take it this is their entry level set? what is the next one up?

There is a Bianchi available on evans cycles in 57cm (I'm just about 6 foot tall) looks a bit of a bargain if it fits

http://www.evanscycles.com/products/bianchi/via-nirone-7-xenon-2010-road-bike-ec021257

Look any good?

Advice and pointers would be very appreciated.

cheers

2300 is the entry level and Sora is the next Shimano gruppo.

That Bianchi looks a bargain with Campag kit on it. If I were you I'd get them to ship the 55cm to a local store as it may well be a more comfortable fit.

They're called beigels if you get them from Brick Lane ;)

And make sure you go to the shop with the white sign, not the yellow one :D
