Good going then, I actually wouldn't mind a longer commute as half the time I end up stringing out my ride home.

Buying a new chain a month ago was what prompted me to get a new cassette, made some awful noises. :o
 
First half of the journey has 5 sets of traffic lights and about as many junctions. The second half has about 50. Mind the bit in central London has CS8 and Embankmet which are a lot of fun; lots of silly commuter racing going on.

Tell me about it, I work on Millbank near the HoP but usually end up chasing people past the Tate. :p

Yes, my commute is 4 miles bang on. Slight incline all the way in with a bump in the middle and slightly downhill all the way home.

A bigger bike or at least some road specific tyres will make a ridiculous difference in your times I reckon.

The silver part is an Ahead style stem raiser(as you can't raise them like a quill stem) and it doesn't need spacers on that part as the raiser is acting as a stem and preloading the headset.

that bike must ride quite comfy with that on the front, I'd take it off and make the bike feel a bit more lively.

I just cycled back from Glasgow and it dropped to 6 degrees :( short and cotton tshirt fails and I felt like topping myself. Decided to just spin the legs and get home at a pace of 13.8mph! Think that's the slowest I've ever went,even on that 85 mile run I did.

All is good though as my shoes and vests are on the way and I have the bibshorts and windproof set aside. Forgot to order bibtights though :rolleyes: I was going with outeredge ones but do any of you have other suggestions?

Just completed the film that we produced regarding cycling issues. It was actually commissioned by Confused.com as a PR tool so the length was largely dictated by them and people's general attention levels, and as such we did have to keep it pretty short and reduce the number of issues we discussed.

Anyway, it's live now but will be going out as the main feature of their newsletter on Monday/Tuesday.

Just to add, I've got this too. Brilliant jacket, especially for the price. I wore it during the Exmoor Beast and it was great. Helped that I could remove the sleeves when it got warmer in the afternoon too.

Thanks :). He actually cycles every day anyway, but shhh ;). We had little over a week to make it from brief to deadline so the only option we had was a mockumentary. The majority of the on-bike footage is from me/my bike as well.

Everyone believes it so far though so that's good :).

Oh, and the only place I know on Millbank near HoP is Thames House which begs the question of whether you are a spy or not...
 
I can't listen to the sound on that video at work but just seeing the stupidity of some people fills me with rage. For example pony tail man waltzing across the crossing on a green light. How are these people going to survive when all cars are silent electric ones?
 
Got my shoes in :)

Got a 44 and it feels perfect. Doesn't feel like it puts a lot of pressure further down the foot but it does...fits nicely around the heel though. The cheap aldi ones I could pull out of it but these are like a ball/socket as they should be.

Could go to the dancing in them :p

That video is like my daily commute into Glasgow. Wish I had a cam to show behind me aswell as you could see how impatient drivers can be.

It's all about confidence and taking control of the situation though, I hear a car charging up to beat me into a road thats merging into one I'll ride out from the kerb a bit and make them wait. Am I #### getting pushed into the kerb and having a wing mirror scrape by me!(especially when I'm going a decent pace aswell!)

Roughly 120 sets of traffic lights on my 6 mile commute to work :p

Interesting, not seen them before although they make sense. Out of interest, as I can't figure it out, how does it preload the headset?
