Yes, I am having serious difficulty in keeping myself from ordering a bunch of jerseys from there. As much as I love to berate a lot of you for being tarts, I am extremely partial to a nice jersey :|

For now, though, I've ordered a pair of those bib shorts and nothing else!

I have one of the pink and red long sleeve jerseys which has been awesome this winter, I get a few funny looks but ho hum.

I have £1000 for a road bike and due to are car needing fixing no more than £1000 my two I have come up with are.

and

Any thoughts as to which?

The Planet-X is full carbon. The Cube is aluminium with carbon forks. I'd always go carbon over aluminium unless it was a Cannondale CAAD. So the Planet-X.

You should also look at this.

Accepted, but a base ride for me will typically be 5 hours or more at 16.5 MPH average. Your muscles will still benefit from a decent recovery drink afterwards.

Ultimately, we must all decide ourselves, there's no right or wrong approach and I am not trying to change anyone's mind or tell any of you what to do. The only point I wanted to make is that a decent recovery shake is just as valid a choice as milk and a banana.

Totally agree on the nutrition front. Recently finished reading Racing Weight which I found very useful.

All right I'm considering some Mule Bars (I have to spend that bonus on something). Other than being outrageously expensive, can anyone vouch for them? And recommend any flavours?

Asprilla vouches for them. Not tried them myself although they also sell them at my climbing centre.

I like them and Cliff Bars.

Would recommend you steer clear of the chocolate one as I find them a bit rich. I tend to go for flavours like oatmeal, nuts and raisins.

Currently ordering uni club team kit from bioracer.
Anyone had experiences with their quality of kit and/or their custom kit?

The Pineapple & Ginger, and Banana Torq bars are also HIGHLY recommended. I bought a box of each at the London Bike Show. Yum! :)

Just did a foolish thing and bought those bib shorts linked above.

I LOVE THE SAVINGS!

[EDIT] Had a tinker with my... well entire bike i suppose. Took two hours but i think my gearing is a lot more pleasant now. Thanks to touch for posting a really helpful tutorial website, wouldn't have known where to start otherwise.

Out of interest, does anyone here do spinning? I went to a class yesterday for the first time (to be told later it was the advanced class :S ) and almost died of cardiac arrest! :P
I managed to stick it out for the full hour though so was pleased with that. How effective is it at improving your ordinary cycling? A lot of it was out of the saddle stuff so I presume it helps your climbing quite a lot.
