I'll be doing everything I can to ignore the Olympics; working and living in Croydon should make that quite easy to do.
Apart from the Road Race, and perhaps the Men's 100M Finals, there's nothing that interests me.

If it's flattish, then it shouldnt be much more difficult than any other road bike. It will definately be better than a MTB.Do any of you do a 13 mile (each way) commute on a single speed bike?
Looks good. Genesis make decent frames from what i'v heard (never ridden one tho). How tall are you? 60cm is a very big frame. And does anyone have any advice on this?

allow about 40 minutes, depending how many traffic lights you have to go through![]()
Is your second name Schleck? Is your second name Schleck?
13 miles in 40 mins is almost 20mph average. I would struggle to do that on a straight road in my lycra, never mind traffic lights, junctions, etc in my commuting gear with a backpack.
I would expect it to take an average commuter nearer an hour.
I've already mentioned it previously I'm sure, unless I am having a bit of deja vue here.
My commute is 13 miles also and flatish. I am wearing lycra but I do have a 25L back pack with packed lunch and a complete change of work clothes in as well as all the usual repair kits, water bottles, tubes, a lock and the lights for the trip home..
I do it on average in 45 mins.

However it is neither on an MTB or a fixie! and I have no idea how having a fixie would change that.
