Can you repair road bike inner tubes with there high pressure ?

Yep, just any normal puncture repair kit will do the job.
The higher pressure forces the tube hard against the inside of the tyre, which only forces the patch down harder over the hole, so the pressure isnt a problem.

Got the pleasure of gluing vittoria corsa evo tubs to these FFWD disc/3 spoke wheels next time I'm in the shop.

I tried that once, ended up getting glue everywhere and got the bike shop to do the other wheel :p

The tubs have been left hanging, and are now on the wheels dry pumped up to 120psi to make it a little easier for when they are getting stuck.

Probably still be a riot!

Just rolled into work ready for my fitting, set a new pb for my work run today, 20:30.

Was close to that a couple years ago but was riding loads, now after 3 weeks back on the bike with my new tires and now spinning at a high rpm I've beaten it.
Rather pleased, everyone in my office has now been told!

Would have posted my endomondo run but its the gps that reboots my phone so time for a different android mod.

This used to happen to me when i commuted regularly it was pretty much once a week (cars driving into me). Cars will hate you for it but what I tended to do was move out giving fair warning and signal to occupy the middle of the lane for all round-a-bouts and often junctions too, personally I didnt like doing it but it stopped cars crushing me into the kerbs on round-a-bouts and made my day a little safer.

I do that but it still doesn't stop some cars, I had one literally drive into the side of me a week or so ago because he wanted to get past me so desperately that he pulled out into oncoming traffic to overtake (just after a roundabout), completely misjudging the distances and had to pull back on to the correct side of the road, wiping me out in the process.

His response: 'well, where was I supposed to go?'

Congrats on your weight loss! I think you deserve the bike now :)

How did you manage to get the bike at such a price?!!

Thanks dude :), as touch said - I live in Guernsey so don't pay VAT, even so I don't think I could have found a better bike at under £1100.00.

Well done (if a bit fast!). What did you start at and what's your target?

Thanks :) I started at around 23 stone, my current goal is to get down to 15 stone and see how I feel there. I'm a tall and broad guy so I think 14st will be the lowest I'd want to be, but I can't really comment until I'm closer to that weight.

Yep. The best way to get better at climbing is to do lots of hills.

Dont just do other hills, keep trying at the big one as well. Dont worry if you have to get off and walk, just try and ride a little bit further each time.

Yarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

Managed to find a smaller hill on Strava, went out and beat it down! Average gradient of 5.6%, but if you edited it slightly, then it would be much higher, this includes 200m of flat before it and some downhill afterwards.

KOM for now (1st of 2 people) :o Its the little victories!

Insulted that I am in the next to top weight class on Strava, I'm only 85.6kg! Not sure what the Power and VAM figures are, and whats a good number! 231w and a VAM of 1006, whatever that means!

I'm quite a chilled rider and I tend to avoid confrontations, but I swear I'd have knocked seven bells out of him at that point, reminding him that he tried to kill me so I'm going to repay the favour

Haha, it's so addictive, but it's great training. I'm pushing myself a lot harder knowing that i'll be uploading my ride to strava than i would just riding on my own.

Power is a rough estimate based on the combined weight of you + your bike and your speed/accereraltion. It cant account for wind conditions or riding in a group tho, so it is a rough figure.

VAM is Vertical Ascent in Metres. I think it's there to give you an idea of how your times on different hills compare. Going fast up a gentle slope can give a similar VAM as going slower up a steep slope. I dont really find VAM very useful tho.

Luckily for me I was quite shaken up so didn't really react. There were about 5 witnesses and I've done my witness statement so just need to wait and see what happens.

If you just want to fit it and never have to think about it for the next 10 years, then yes.

I've got one and I'll be getting the matching bb soon.

That is what folk say, and it is an attractive idea. It's a decent, custom, steel frame that I fully intend to be riding a decade from now, so skimping on a few quid at this stage would be a shame - unless a Hope unit really is just as good.

unless a Hope unit really is just as good.

You could get a Hope and find that it gives you a decade of maintenance free joy. It's just more likely with a CK.

I've got CK hubs on my next wheel build and Hope hubs on my commuting wheels. It's the commuting bike that has the CK headset and will get the CK bb.

I'm a fan of both, but I'd say CK is better.

It's also cooler.
