Saracen Tourmalet Road Bike
Bike frame is XL (61cm) it would ideally suit somebody 5ft 11” to 6ft 3” tall

I think they are being a bit ambitious with their sizing.
I am 6foot and i ride a 55cm frame. I think a 61 would be too big for somebody in the lower end of that height range.

Other than that, it seems like a reasonable spec for the money.

Ah right, I wasn't too sure on the sizing. I am 5'11 so I thought I might be alright.

Is it the same as I used to do providing you can touch the floor both sides on balls of feet then it's fine, or is there more to it than that?

Not really much of an issue if you are just going to trundle to work or down the shops.

However, an ill fitting bike can lead to aches and pains due to the wrong fit. Given that you said you want to do a Triathlon on it and likely will put in some miles, you want a bike that fits you.

AFAIK, they are all part of the rim, not an aero cover.
Mavic cosmic carbones are slightly different, they have an alloy rim with a carbon fairing but the fairing is integrated and cant be removed.

The problem is that to have that, the spokes need to pass through the fairing, so the wheel needs to be built with the fairing in place. (the disc covers that were posted earlier just go over the outside of all the spokes, so they work ok).

But yes, deeper rims are great and make a big difference to the speeds you can go.

I was think about that, and i need to make my bike and myself more aerodynamic because at the moment it seems i reach a speed and i can feel the air resistance,

You'll be the most unaerodynamic thing on your bike by a mile. I'm not an expert but I'd look at perfecting your drop positioning before considering things like wheels.

Does anyone know what the deal was with Box Hill yesterday?

I watched the Commons Select Committee grilling G4S yesterday and they kept referring to the Cycling event that was happening today at Box Hill (yesterday). Was there another cycling test event? Or was it purely a security and logistics test?

Any ideas?

I figured it was probably just security, but there wasn't much said other than the fact that hardly anyone turned up.

so been test riding some bikes and sadly no focus izalco 3 around, so looking into getting a bike from the Canyon company..

Im looking into the Ultimate 9 pro and the SLX 8( the entry one),http://www.canyon.com/_uk/roadbikes/bike.html?b=2510

With the TDF special going on right now it seems like a good time to buy.

I know they releasing a updated SLX model in 2013 but it going to be at least £2800+ from the looks so out my budget.

I just wondering who has a Canyon Ultimate and SLX? and the differances between the riding styles of the bikes, as from what i can see they the same style but differant frame/specs ect.(pro frame vs non pro)

just looking to hear some info about the bikes really, also how good is the canyon size calculator thing?
