We stopped at traffic lights about half way in, I said hello and he just muttered something back at me in a rather unpleasant tone. I don't think he liked me.

I heard shimano shoes are small, so you need a size larger than you usually do.
gonna start looking at bike lights for some winter training. apparently philips do a good front lamp at about 70£ from bike-discount.de
Just had an amusing chase home, I was on my MTB with nobbly tyres and Halfords cheapest pedals, i was also carrying a change of clothes and two bike locks in my backpack (one of which being the Abus Granite X which weighs a fair bit).
I'm coming up to a mini roundabout and a guy in full Lycra on a road bike with clipless and no bag of any sort comes in the opposite directions, we were both turning into the same road but he was coming across me, so I gave way. This gave him the lead, I assumed I wouldn't be able to keep up with him. To my surprise I was actually right on his wheel for the first 100m, then he looked over his shoulder and noticed me. For about three miles he was desperately trying to leave me behind but I was doing my best to stay close (without crowding him obviously). We stopped at traffic lights about half way in, I said hello and he just muttered something back at me in a rather unpleasant tone. I don't think he liked me. Just when I felt it was getting to the point where I could overtake him safely (I think he was tiring quicker than me) he turned off into a side road, I was most upset

I've had a set of these for a while and have been quite happy with them:

Ridiculously bright and the only major issue is that, although you can select which of the lights are on, you can't dim the lights and I don't really like dazzling drivers and other cylists in traffic. There's probably a way to do this but I've not found one.
looks good but possibly aimed a bit more for off road mb use?
Can someone link to the Philips that's been mentioned a few times?
This one I think:

Looks a bit old school but gets decent reviews.

Just seen that Exposure have bumped ther output of most of their range by 25% and battery capacity by 50% for 2013. My Strada outputs 645 lumen but in a combination of dipped 'letterbox' from one lamp and the a high beam spot from the other.
Bumping that to 800 lumen would be awesome.
They also have a new rear light called the Blaze; I might be replacing my Hope District before I've even used it...
I'm back for more advice!
I'm trying to remove my cranks. It's shimano M341. I've taken the dust cover off and the crank extractor fits the thread. My question is: is this the right method to just screw the bolt in to the cranks and is the bolt the right size? Thanks

On the crank tool wind the larger section to the end of the smaller threaded section. Then screw the wider threaded section into your crank until it is reasonably tight, then tighten the smaller bolt until the crank plops off.
