Had a bit of an experience today with a middle age bwm driving woman hitting my rear wheel at approx 20mph. She then sped off as got off....so i threw my bike at the side of her car!
 
Jonny, I have a friend who works at the velodrome. Infact, you can see him sitting at the desk in the Danny/Chris video. I quite fancy heading up for a shot at some point.
 
Is anyone around North Yorkshire? I can travel (have 2 bike carriers for car)... just looking for someone to do short (sub 50) mile rides with at some kind of leisurely pace.
 
about the Velodrome, i found the price

The Taster session can be the first part of progressing through to gaining Velodrome track accreditation. Inform the coach of your current skills, and they can advise how to progress. This is explained further in the [Accreditation information] It is unlikely that a blue slip is achieved on the first Taster session, but ask the coach to explain the process so you can practice the skills. The cost per 1 hour Taster is £10.50 including bike and helmet hire, £8.30 concessions. You will be riding with up to 15 other riders on the track at the same time, for one hour’s duration. You will be given a set of skills to learn by the coach and each rider will be provided with a bike and helmet. The Taster sessions are great fun and are one of the most popular track sessions provided, so whether you want to be the next Sir Chris Hoy or Laura Trott, or just keen to see what it’s like to ride round a banked Velodrome track, this is the session for you

It's a shame that they don't. I've seen loads of bikes changing gears beautifully in a workstand then misbehaving under load. Especially the case with the more 'mature' bikes!

That was about the only thing they did get right, the gear change beautifully now. One spoke being silver and rest black is going to do my head in though i think.
 
Guys, has anyone got any advice, quite a keen XC rider, but looking to get a road bike to help get some extra miles in when I can't be bothered to clean my bike after during the winter, I have around £500 to spend, but may consider second hand if it is worth it.
