I'm in the market for one too and in the same position - Any idea what this one is like for noise and feel?

no, but from whatr i have read its fairly quite

i have also been looking at a Tacx Sirius or the Minoura B60-R which are quite apparently

goto Bike Radar and do a seach for turbo trainers, theres a round up (last year i think though but not really out of date)

Hello guys.

So after buying my first mtb a few months ago and never getting round to taking it off road I have decided to get a road bike instead.

This week I picked up a 2011 Specialized Allez Sport. Really loving it so far but need to order some accessories.

Most needed I feel are some shoes with cleats to match the spd-sl pedals, some spare tubes, lights for my commute a small pump and a saddle bag to hold it all.

I already have some cheap jerseys and shorts and will look to getting some better clothing further down the line.

This is what im looking to order.

Is there anything there which I could get decent alternatives cheaper or does everything look like good value?

Any advice is appreciated.

Shadowness, 18650 batteries will fit within your steerer tube on your forks if you really want to be neat.

You can use a BMX gyro type top cap to run the wire thru, I've done this and it works well. You just need to make sure it's waterproof.

My only suggestion would be to get shoes from a local bike shop (LBS). Sizing can be weird and you'll soon get bored of sending shoes back to a mail-order supplier. Never had any DHBs but my experience is that Shimano shoes are quite narrow for a given size (for my feet at least) whereas Specialized are much better. You'll probably pay more at a shop but that might be worth it to try on some different brands before deciding.

Went out today to try some new clothing. New Castelli Espresso jacket, Gore bib tights and Planet X winter gloves.

All I can say is.....Winter...BRING IT ON!

I was ****ing roasting the whole time. So with a thermal baselayer, I think I'm still going to be pretty warm when it hits 0C.

Been out today for a short 35 mile ride, weather not great but managed to get the mileage I needed to complete my yearly goal of 5,000 miles.
Completed 64 days early. :D

I need to think about a target for next year. I'm due to get to 1000 for this year any time now, and I've only been logging things since July or thereabouts. I'm averaging about 60-70 miles a week at the moment, so I think I should be able to do 3000 next year.

I was part of a group aiming for 1000km in October, i have had multiple issues due to bad back, sickness and a holiday meaning i blew it (i was aiming for 500 but only scraped past 100 today) but one bloke is on course needing 120km in next 3 days as i recall!

Had a horrible ride today. Cold, wet, windy, miserable, slow (7 km/h slower than my usual average on that route) and despite pumping my tyres up to 120psi before hand they still felt soft halfway round and felt like the rims were bottoming out on the bumpier parts.

Mojo = low. Might be time to drag the hybrid out for winter (and get some better gloves and a balaclava!)
