My next bike purchase will be a CX bike with discs, but that won't be for a while yet...

Cycled in for the first time in ages today, two notable things, any fitness I may have had seems to have disappeared after just a month of not cycling ¬_¬ and secondly didn't feel as cold as I thought it would (left at 6am), met office said it was 0c but had no real issues with the cold and that was without overshoes (but with 2 pairs of socks), got my overshoes at the office now so can use them but thinking they might be too hot now :p

With regards to the temperature; you've put on weight.

With moving house and weekends full of children's birthday parties I still haven't finished my CX and for that reason I bottled this morning's commute.

I see an evening of spannering before me.
If the weather was bad enough to have [DOD]Asprilla off the bike, then I am absolved of guilt for getting the tram to work. Thank you for your comforting words, [DOD]Asprilla ;)

Oddly I don't think I have put on much/any, but I did have plenty to start with :p

I was fairly sure that I'd be fine mostly (partly due to the aforementioned insulation...), but last time I rode in even semi-cold weather I felt the airflow through my shoes, and with the real cold now on us I thought that would be the thing I felt the most but it seemed fine, don't think that'll stop me using the overshoes tomorrow though when the met office reckon I'll be riding in -2 (and 'feels like' -5) :p

I managed to get that Pompino build down a further £50 with a cheeky email. I'm going for a half price retul bike fit whilst up there as well so probably helped with the haggle as they won't have to ship it to me either.

So far I've been quite impressed with the customer service from Planet X, let's hope they deliver come January.

Ordered last night, picked up from Cycle Surgery at lunchtime.. very efficient as well as being cheap :)

Good job, I'm off to pick mine and some other bits up shortly. Was a stonking price, so good in fact they've removed them from the website. Must have had a flood of orders :D

I let the mrs persuade me into wearing some thermal base layer pants (not cycling specific, no padding) under my usual MTB shorts this morning.

I got to work to realise I looked like a 13yr old girl wearing shorts/leggings. That's the last time I wear any pants while riding...

I have just ordered a base layer top though. I'm getting some nice frost burn on my belly and arms some of these mornings riding in. I don't tend to feel cold bar my hands and ears now and again but I'm sure frost burn isn't doing my skin much good.

Stonkingly good offer and if you hadn't spotted it would have passed me by completely so cheers! ;)

Was tempted to ask if they had a couple more in stock when I picked them up, it was such good value :D

I've been looking at winter tyres all day on my phone so it wasn't a nice experience.
I need tyres that will keep me up a bit better on ice and that will fit a 700 x 25 wheel.
Also what is the lowest pressure I can take my tyres down to because that will help?

I anticipate a thread regarding this program in the 'Motors' section with the usual brainless nonsense from the dimwits in there.

Well I fear that the footage in this programme might mean their nonsense is actually justified.

I think this will be showing arrogant cyclists who think they're lord of the road.

prob is there a only a few cyclist who will be arrogant and then others will think all cyclists are like that :( in which i would say the majority are considerate of other road users. say with car users. a small amount do the arrogant things and the whole group get judged

The girl who died because a Cement Mixer turned into her did nothing wrong...tragic :(
And the guy who almost got wiped out by the HGV on the roundabout  Terrifying.
