did a good 20ish miles today with a strong head wind for 8 miles of it :)

would have done more but was out with a friend that had recently broke it hip and collar bone and it was his first time back out since the incident

Pah! My cycle home is in a SW direction.....so straight into the prevailing winds everyday.

It's so depressing cycling in the wind on a flat, looking down and seeing your struggling to keep 17+mph or so!
 
Out on the bike tomorrow. Got a few in over Christmas but it will be the first time this year. Its going to be until at least the end of March before I can get out after work and really crank up the training. Just got to keep my legs turning when I can for now.
 
My new wheelset has been out on delivery in a UPS van all day. not looking hopeful now at 18:30pm and still waiting :(

Single speed is a compromise

You'll either have to stomp like crazy to get up hills, or you'll be spinning like a nutter on the flat

My Smart R1 is knackered too, the clips are that loose that if you go over a bump it just falls apart.

Glad I have another one too! But I need another backup....any recommendations? I quite fancy something that can go on my rucksack as opposed to my bike.

That's alright, I'm not after something stupidly bright, I already have a pretty bright light already....and to be honest, if I have another I'll probably get hit because drivers are blinded, not because they didnt see me!
 
put it this way.. its really visible from far away :) which i guess is the whole point! :) i have been fallowing guys with these and tbh its ok in my eyes and drivers shouldn't really care about it either..

I was going to get one but they point down on most seat posts, seems a silly oversight on such a good light!

I have the smart lunar r1 and it seems really good, cheap too and thus far has been faultless!
 
I commute on a mountain bike (it's got guards and the weather is crap!) with nobblies.

took my road bike out this evening to test a couple of the strava segments I commute on.

One short segment fell from 1:17 to 51 seconds

Do any of you bother using a rear light for solo training rides? I've never bothered but am thinking about it, just from a safety perspective.

I'd ideally like something long, slim and mounted vertically. Like a Cateye but better. Ideas?

Really? I've not noticed that, but you wouldn't want it pointing above horizontal anyway as it'll blind whoever's behind you.

I use one if the weather's not great, every little helps and all that.
