at 5'9 my ideal should be 75kg, for a man if you're 180cm tall you should weight 80kg to be in the "ideal"

Maybe if you're very muscular - the average 5'9" person would be a bit overweight at 75kg I'd say.

I'm round about 180cm and at 80kg I'd definitely be overweight, and I'm not a beanpole either, more of a puncheur. :p

i weight 76 lol.. just weighted my self yesterday :)

i have enough muscle and some fat around the belly area but far from being overweight.. you can't even see it tbh.

left my keys at home today :| so had to get a cheapo lock for 10 quid at evans.. jeez.

Andy Schleck is 6ft1 and 68kg. That's (part of) why he's faster than you

on the other hand, Thor Hushovd is one of the "big lads" of the peloton and he's an inch shorter and 10kg heavier

Just shows the difference between someone whose aim is to go fast up the tourmalet and someone whose aim is to have crank-bending power

Well, turns out I'm far less healthy financially than I thought. Dreams of building a new commuter are cancelled. I guess I could get some new handbuilt wheels for my commuter relatively cheaply but I'm not sure it's worth upgrading it at all.

Thankfully both rock climbing and cycling benefit from me being light. 5'5" / 60kg here. Basically a midget.:(

This must be where the phrase 'Hubba Hubba' come from.

Best hubs you can buy. I have a set of Royce ultralight hubs on my carbon clinchers. The polished aluminium has an amazing milky white finish. Roll forever and super smooth.

It's a mid flange front and a venus rear (well it should be, I've not actually opened the boxes yet) which will be going on H Plus Son Archetypes in polished silver:

I cycle passed this every weekday and today I got knocked off my bike for the 2nd time at this junction, (thankfully my brakes are good and both were at low speed so no damage to me and more importantly my bike :p) I've also had a number of close calls. I travel straight down towards the Prius/Taxi and I usually have trouble with cars crossing from the road on the right. Now I was always lead to believe that those white squares on either side of the junction meant that I had right of way and that anyone wanting to cross had to wait for me to pass. Am I in the wrong if I continue to cycle straight through the junction or should cars wishing to cross wait for me to pass?

You're in the right, joining traffic should be waiting for you to pass.

They wouldn't pull out on a car so maybe its the drivers that need a highway code refresh, or some glasses.

Oh how agreeable.

They are the rims I was looking at getting, on considerably cheaper hubs mind!

Do you know if they would take 32C tyres?

Easily.

I've got a black pair on Chris King R45s and I've mounted 35c ice spikes on to see what they were like.

I've also got KinLin ADHC and Velocity A23 rims which are the same width. I've got my Marathon Winters on the KinLins and 33mm CX tyres on the A23s.

The markings on the side roads mean people coming from those side roads have to give way.

That's great. I've been quoted £320 for either H+Son Archetypes or Velocity Deep V rims on BLB (Brick Lane Bikes) front hub and Hope rear hub with 28/32 DT swiss spokes.

If I can still use my current tyres that will be one less thing to buy although these 32C Panaracers weigh almost 1kg for a pair!
